Prosperity was named "the only living ancient town in China" because of Jun porcelain and Millennium kiln fire, but few people know it. The kiln burned for thousands of years, and the town lit up half the sky. It has a long history and is not lost to Jingdezhen at all.
This ancient town is located in Yuzhou, Henan Province. It is called Shen Dong Ancient Town. Many friends are not familiar with this name. Shen Dong is prosperous and famous for its Jun porcelain. During the Northern Song Dynasty, Jun porcelain became the "imperial treasure of the court", ranking first among the five famous porcelains in China, so it also had the title of "Jun porcelain capital".
This small town has maintained the tradition of morning market so far: every Tuesday morning, people from Shiliba Township will come to the town with their treasures, rain or shine, to catch up with the morning meeting.
The famous old street here is called "Qili Long Street", which is located on both sides of the river. It is mainly composed of four ancient villages: east, west, north and south. Every ancient village has tall and thick city walls and watchtowers. According to local people, walled villages and turrets are mainly used for military defense, resisting bandits and preventing floods.
The long history has preserved many historical sites for it, such as kiln temple, Lingquan temple and ancestral temple, which is a rare place to taste the ancient rhyme of Ming and Qing Dynasties. Strolling through Shendong Town and looking at the ancient streets seems to make people go back to distant times. From these buildings, people also witnessed the past glory of this town. ?
Nowadays, it's rare that the queen of God doesn't accept tickets, and there is not much commercial flavor. What he sells is mainly Jun porcelain, and there are not many tourists. Perhaps it is not as dreamy as the water town in the south of the Yangtze River, but its old streets, houses and things are still humming the elegance of the past thousands of years.
