Bo people’s hanging coffins are a mystery in the world
Bo people’s hanging coffins are mainly distributed in Gong County and Xingwen County of Yibin City. They are known as the best in the world and the only one in Bashu. A group of ancient cliff burial tombs before the Ming Dynasty, a national key cultural relic protection unit. Mainly concentrated in Matangba and Sumawan, Gong County, and Jiusicheng, Xingwen County. Gong County is located at the junction of Sichuan, Yunnan and Guizhou provinces. It is the most typical place for ancient hanging coffins. Forty-one hanging coffin sites have been discovered, with a total of 288 hanging coffins. It is the place with the most hanging coffins in China and even the world. The hanging coffin is commonly known as "hanging rock son". That is to say, placing the coffin on a cliff tens of meters high is the burial system of the Bo people in southern Sichuan in ancient times. The Bo people lived in groups in Yibin as early as the Warring States Period, and established Bohou State and Bodao County. Because of his fierceness and bravery, he was not tolerated by the rulers of the past dynasties. They live in the wilderness among thorns and have the reputation of "overcoming thorns and thorns".
