There are three big bright red characters on the mountain wall of Dahongpao. Dahongpao has dense branches and leaves, and its top extends obliquely upwards. When the tea tree germinates in early spring every year, from a distance, the whole tree is as bright as fire, as if covered with a red robe.
Spring comes from the southeast every year, and the water is warm and slightly open. The riverside is famous, and Wuyi immortals have been planted since ancient times. Song Fan Zhongyan Wuyi Rock Tea is very famous. In the Yuan Dynasty, there was already a royal tea garden here, which was responsible for making tribute tea. Dahongpao is the largest rock tea in Wuyishan. Jiulong Barbecue, which grows in the north of Wuyishan, has only four plants left, which is priceless. Jiulongke is a canyon with a clear spring oozing out. The place where Dahongpao grows is more than 600 meters above sea level, with gurgling streams and misty clouds. The spring water seeping from the cracks nourishes them, so they can thrive without fertilization. Every May 13 to May 15, local people set up ladders to collect tea in Dahongpao. The output is very small, only a few taels, which is a rare treasure.
Legend: Dahongpao was born from the seed of Penglai Island crane on the cliff of Wuyishan. There is another legend.
