Sanyu Scenic Area is located 15 kilometers west of Miyun County. The scenic peaks and beautiful waters, the mountains and the Great Wall, Bashu culture and many other scenic spots constitute the Sanyu style with various characteristics. Sanyu Scenic Area consists of three valleys: Niupen Valley, Shitang Valley and Baidao Valley. The main scenic spot, Niupen Valley, has beautiful peaks, high cliffs and waterfalls, trickling streams, chirping birds and fragrant flowers. The ancient Great Wall lies on the top of the mountain, forming a wonderful landscape painting. The scenery of Baidaoyu is dominated by the Great Wall, with steep peaks that resemble the Jiangnan Stone Forest. The main attractions include Mengliangzhai, Xuanquan Cave, Shenxian Cave, etc. When you go to Shitangyu, you should take a look at the "Cao Great Wall" because this is the authentic relic of the Great Wall of the Ming Dynasty. Legend has it that this section of the Great Wall was supposed to be built at Shentang Valley, but the construction supervising officials mistakenly thought it was Shitang Valley, so this half of the Great Wall was left behind. The Great Wall is 200 meters long, with double walls, observation towers, perforations, and watchtowers. However, it is not connected to other Great Walls and stands alone.
