Traveling to Finland, what materials are needed to apply for a Finnish tourist visa?

Required materials for visa application

1. For short-term (Category C) visa, please refer to "Schengen Visa".

2. For long-term (Category D) visa, application for long-term residence permit must be submitted in person to the Finnish Embassy in China. Decisions on long-term residence permit applications are made by the Finnish Immigration Service, and the Finnish Embassy in China is unable to provide consulting services to applicants. After the long-term residence permit card arrives at the Finnish Embassy in China, the Embassy will notify the applicant. Foreign residents who need to stay in Finland for three months or more are required to hold a residence permit. If you work in Finland and live in Finland for less than three months, you also need to apply for a residence permit. On January 1, 2012, biometric residence permit cards with fingerprint information were launched. Applicants prepare the required materials according to different types of residence permits:

(1) Visiting relatives/visiting friends (family members)

1) Only spouses of people living in Finland (including Common-law spouses and homosexuals) and children under the age of 18 under their custody are considered family members.

2) Applicants must apply in person and undergo interviews, fingerprints and digital image collection, and must make an appointment by phone in advance.

3) All preparation materials must be submitted in original and two copies, as well as a copy of the recognized certificate, including the certification page.

4) If the applicant’s spouse is a foreigner who has lived in Finland for a long time, the following materials need to be prepared:

a. Two copies of the application form (OLE_PH1) filled in by the applicant and signed by the applicant sign.

b. Two additional pages of photos (OLEL_PK) should be attached to the residence permit application form, and two standard passport photos taken in the last six months should be attached to the form.

c. Two copies of the form (PK1_PLUS) filled in by the spouse living in Finland.

d. The applicant’s valid passport, two copies of the first page, signature page and visa page of the passport.

e. Notarized and double-certified marriage certificate, original and two copies.

f. Two copies of the passport and residence permit of the spouse in Finland. If there are other relevant supporting materials, two copies are required.

5) If the applicant’s spouse is a Finnish citizen, the following materials need to be prepared:

a. Two copies of the application form (OLE_PH2) filled in by the applicant and signed personally.

b. Two additional pages of photos (OLEL_PK) should be attached to the residence permit application form, and two standard passport photos taken in the last six months should be attached to the form.

c. Two copies of the form (PK2_PLUS) filled in by the Finnish spouse.

d. The applicant’s valid passport, two copies of the first page, signature page and visa page of the passport.

e. Notarized and double-certified marriage certificate, original and two copies.

f. If the applicant and his Finnish spouse registered their marriage in Finland, please present two copies of the marriage certificate.

6) If one parent is in Finland and the child lives in the country with the other parent, but only the child applies for a long-term residence permit, the following materials need to be prepared:

a. The parent will act on behalf of the child. Fill in two copies of the application form (OLE_PH4) and sign it.

b. Two additional photo pages for the residence permit application form (OLEL_PK), and two standard passport photo application forms taken in the last six months.

c. Two copies of the form (PK4_PLUS) filled out by parents in Finland.

d. Two copies of the form (PH4_PLUS) filled out by parents in China.

e. The child’s valid passport and two copies of the first page of the passport. If there are other visas in the passport, two copies are required.

f. Two copies each of the passport and residence permit of the parent in Finland. If there are other relevant supporting documents, two copies must be prepared.

g. The child’s birth certificate, notarized and authenticated by the Authentication Office of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, original and two copies.

h. The consent form from parents in China for their children to go abroad must be notarized and certified, the original and two copies.

7) If one parent is in Finland and the child lives in the country with the other parent, and will apply for a long-term residence permit at the same time, the following materials need to be prepared:

a. Application by the parent , two copies (OLE_PH4) filled in on behalf of the child and signed.

b. Two additional pages of photos (OLEL_PK) should be attached to the residence permit application form, and two passport photos taken in the last six months should be attached to the form.

c. The child’s valid passport, two copies of the passport’s first page, signature page and visa page.

d. The child’s birth certificate, notarized and authenticated by the Authentication Office of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, original and two copies.

(2) Study visa

1) Foreign students admitted by Finnish educational institutions need to apply for a long-term residence permit if they study in Finland for more than 3 months.

2) If the applicant needs to take an entrance exam before being admitted to a Finnish educational institution, he must first apply for a Schengen visa.

3) To apply for a long-term residence permit for the first time, the applicant should submit it at the Embassy or Consulate General of Finland in China (non-Chinese citizens can submit their application in China if they have a valid residence permit in China).

4) The extension of the long-term residence permit should be applied for at the local police station in Finland.

(3) Applicants are students who are going to study or exchange in Finland and need to submit the following materials:

1) Two copies of the completed and signed application form (OLE_OPI).

2) Two photo attachment pages (OLEL_PK) of the residence permit application form and two passport photos taken in the last six months should be attached to the form. They cannot be stapled to the application form.

3) Valid passport and signature, two copies of the first page of the passport. If the passport contains visas from other countries, two copies of the visa pages are required.

4) Two copies of overseas medical insurance during study in Finland are required.

5) Applicants must choose an internationally recognized or international insurance company for insurance. The insurance company must sign and seal the policy and provide an inquiry telephone number and website.

6) Admission notice from a Finnish educational institution, original and two copies.

7) A bank deposit certificate of 6,000 euros or approximately 60,000 yuan (calculated based on foreign exchange rates) issued in the name of the applicant must provide the original and two copies. Applicants must renew this certificate every year during their stay in Finland.

8) Provide IELTS (IELTS/5.0), TOEFL (TOEFL213/550) English proficiency test transcripts (doctoral students are exempt from the test), and two copies.

9) The applicant’s birth notarization certificate, original and two copies.

10) Notarized certificate of highest academic degree or qualification certified by the Authentication Office of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, original and two copies.

11) If the applicant is an exchange student, in addition to preparing a recognized certificate of the highest academic degree, he must also submit a certificate of enrollment issued by the school where he/she is currently studying, which must be certified by the Notary Office and the Authentication Office of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Original and two copies. Exchange students are required to provide two copies of the exchange agreement signed by the principals of both parties.

12) If the applicant has worked in China or has work experience, he or she needs to provide a work certificate or work experience certificate, which must be notarized and certified, with two originals and two copies.

13) If the applicant is a minor, a consent form signed by the parent must be attached, notarized and certified, the original and two copies.

(4) If the applicant is a scholar who wants to engage in research in Finland, please submit the following materials:

1) Two (OLE_TUT) application forms need to be filled out.

2) Two additional pages of photos (OLEL_PK) should be attached to the residence permit application form, and two standard passport photos taken in the last six months (the requirements are the same as above).

3) Valid passport and signature, two copies of the first page of the passport. If the passport contains visas from other countries, two copies of the visa pages are required.

4) An original invitation letter and two copies issued by a Finnish research institution or inviting company, stating the applicant’s salary, length of stay, scope of responsibilities, etc., and signed by the inviting person.

5) Proof of financial status (deposit certificate, scholarship certificate or work agreement and other relevant certificates), original and two copies.

6) Notarized certificate of highest academic degree or qualification certified by the Authentication Office of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, original and two copies.

7) If the applicant has or has worked in China, he or she needs to provide a work certificate or work experience certificate, which must be notarized and certified, with the original and two copies.

(5) Work visa

1) Two copies of the completed and signed application form (OLE_TY1).

2) Two additional pages of photos (OLEL_PK) should be attached to the residence permit application form, and two passport photos taken in the last six months should be attached to the form. They cannot be stapled to the application form.

3) Valid passport and signature, two copies of the first page of the passport. If the passport contains visas from other countries, two copies of the visa pages are required.

4) A job invitation letter or job description issued by the employer, the original and two copies, stating the applicant's salary, length of stay, scope of responsibilities, etc., and the signature of the inviting person.

5) The employer shall submit two copies of the materials (TEM054) to the Finnish Employment Agency.

6) The highest academic qualification certificate notarized and certified by the Authentication Office of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, original and two copies.

7) If the applicant will be engaged in technical jobs in Finland, such as chefs, welders, nurses and other technical jobs, they need to submit a notarized and certified professional qualification certificate by the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the original and two copies. copies.

8) If the applicant currently has a job or has had work experience, he/she needs to submit a work certificate or work experience certificate that has been notarized and certified by the consulate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the original and two copies.

9) The chef needs to submit a physical examination certificate, which must be notarized and certified by the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the original and two copies.

10) If the applicant is employed by a Finnish company as an expert, you need to prepare the following materials:

a. Two copies of the completed and signed application form (OLE_TY2).

b. Two additional pages of photos (OLEL_PK) should be attached to the residence permit application form and two passport photos taken in the last six months should be attached to the form.

c. Valid passport with signature, two copies of the first page and signature page of the passport, and the visa page. If the passport contains visas from other countries, two copies of the visa page are required.
