Ministry of Culture and Tourism: Domestic tourist arrivals in 2021 will be 3.246 billion, with total tourism revenue of 2.92 trillion yuan

Central Broadcasting Network, Beijing, January 26 News According to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism recently released domestic tourism data for 2021.

Domestic tourism sample survey statistics show that in 2021, the total number of domestic tourism trips was 3.246 billion, an increase of 367 million or 12.8% over the same period last year (recovering to 54.0% in 2019). Among them, 2.342 billion were urban residents, an increase of 13.4%; 904 million were rural residents, an increase of 11.1%.

Domestic tourism revenue (total tourism consumption) was 2.92 trillion yuan, an increase of 0.69 trillion yuan over the same period last year, an increase of 31.0% (recovering to 51.0% in 2019). Among them, urban residents’ tourism consumption was 2.36 trillion yuan, an increase of 31.6%; rural residents’ tourism consumption was 0.55 trillion yuan, an increase of 28.4%.

The per capita consumption per trip was 899.28 yuan, an increase of 125.14 yuan or 16.2% over the same period last year. Among them, the per capita consumption of urban residents per trip was 1,009.57 yuan, an increase of 16.0%; the per capita consumption of rural residents per trip was 613.56 yuan, an increase of 15.7%.
