Ji Xiang Temple was founded in the third year of Taiping and Xingguo in the Northern Song Dynasty, namely in 978 AD. It was formerly known as Guangfu Temple, and was later named "Ji Xiang Temple" by Song Zhenzong. Destroyed by war at the end of Yuan Dynasty. It used to be a famous temple in the mature area of the Grand Canal. At that time, the traffic on the Grand Canal was busy, which was the only place for Buddhist believers in Hangjiahu area to make pilgrimages from the canal to Lingyin and Tianzhu to the mountains, and occupied a high position in the canal and the Buddhist community in Hangzhou.
