The latest entry regulations of the Netherlands in 2022 removed all entry restrictions in COVID-19.
According to official website, the Dutch government has decided to lift the EU entry ban on the Netherlands from September 17, 2022.
According to the Dutch policy, in view of the current epidemiological situation in the Netherlands, the Dutch government believes that the EU's entry ban is no longer commensurate with entering the Netherlands. The European Commission also plans to issue a proposal to amend the rules for joining the European Union (EU) in the autumn of 2022.
This decision means that from September 17, 2022, the restrictions or requirements related to coronavirus pneumonia-19 will no longer apply to passengers entering the Netherlands (including passengers from countries outside the EU/Schengen area).
Compared with Italian, Spanish, French and other European countries, China citizens' visa applications have been liberalized, but Dutch visas have not been completely relaxed.
However, from July 15, 2022, China's embassy and consulate in the Netherlands began to accept all applications for visiting relatives in the Netherlands, but did not release business visas or tourist visas. Before applying for a business visa, you must have the approval of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but you cannot apply for a tourist visa.
Then, since the lifting of the EU ban on September 17, 2022, the policy of tourists from countries outside the EU/Schengen area entering the Netherlands has returned to before the outbreak, that is, as long as they hold valid passports and Dutch visas, they do not need to show the relevant restrictions in COVID-19, including the negative COVID-19 nucleic acid certificate or vaccination certificate before departure or after arrival (whether COVID-19 vaccine is vaccinated or not, and what kind of COVID-19 vaccine is no longer needed), and the recovered people in COVID-19 do not need to be vaccinated.
For China citizens, the EU ban is no longer valid, which means that China's embassy and consulate in the Netherlands will probably release all visa applications soon, including business and tourist visas, and there will be no restrictions on going to the Netherlands.
At present, apart from Russia and Ukraine, only three countries still maintain entry restrictions on COVID-19, namely, Spain, Germany and Luxemburg. Germany is the only European country that maintains the principle of reciprocity in the EU's ban on China citizens, and China citizens still need necessary reasons to apply for a German visa when visiting Germany.
The good news is that, as mentioned above, the European Commission also plans to issue a proposal to amend the EU accession rules in the autumn of 2022. Therefore, at that time, the EU's ban and the so-called "principle of reciprocity" will be cancelled with the revision of the proposal. Let's wait and see!
