The Background of the Establishment of Ruodian Industrial Park and Jiaozishan Tourism Development Zone

The northern part of Kunming, especially Dongchuan, Luquan and Xundian counties with Ruodian town as the center, is rich in natural resources and has special geographical conditions. It is the geographical center and important transportation hub of the five northern counties. However, economic and social development has been relatively backward for a long time. The fundamental reason is that this area is difficult to be driven by the effective radiation of the main city of Kunming and lacks the regional growth pole that can stimulate development.

The municipal party committee and the municipal government decided to set up the management committee of Kunming Ruodian Industrial Park and the management committee of Kunming Jiaozishan Tourism Development Zone, to make overall plans for Hongtudi Town and Social Block Township in Dongchuan District, to turn Luquan County into Longlong Town, Xueshan Township and Wumeng Township, and to make efforts to build an economic growth pole that focuses on Ruodian District and drives the rapid rise of northern counties.
