Why is Dunhuang called Shacheng?

Hello, I'm Master Jiang from the touring car. Shazhou is now Dunhuang City, Gansu Province. Dunhuang is surrounded by Gobi Desert, which is located on the eastern edge of Taklimakan Desert. In the second year of Yuanshou (12 1 years ago), the Han Dynasty decided to cut off the enemy's right arm and leave me alone and set out for Hexi Corridor. In the spring of the same year, Huo Qubing, the general of a title of generals in ancient times, took command of Wan Qi from Longxi and marched into Hexi, winning a great victory. Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty set up Jiuquan County and Wuwei County in Hexi. And take measures such as fortification, reclamation and resettlement to continuously enrich and strengthen the construction of Hexi. In the sixth year of Ding Yuan (11years ago), Jiuquan and Wuwei counties were demolished respectively.

In the first year of Xiankang in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (335), Zhang Jun, the former king, set up three counties in Dunhuang, Jinchang and Gaochang, all of which guarded the Third Battalion. The captain of Wuji and Yumen in the Western Regions was Shazhou, and the country was under the jurisdiction of Dunhuang.
