What is a self-guided activity? What safety tips and rescue obligations should travel agencies perform during tourists’ self-guided activities?
(1) It is required not to join the group activities for the whole day or at a certain scenic spot. Because some tourists have visited the tourist city many times or visited a certain scenic spot and do not want to visit again, they do not want to join the group activities. It is required not to visit a certain scenic spot or to leave the group for a certain day or several days for free activities. If their requirements do not affect the activities of the entire tour group, they can be accommodated and necessary assistance provided.
① Please explain in advance that if you do not join the group activities, no matter the length of time, all fees will not be refunded, and you will be responsible for all additional expenses.
②Tell the tourists the time and place to eat so that they can have a meal when they return to the team.
③Remind them to pay attention to safety and protect their finances.
④Visitors are reminded to bring their hotel card (the card contains the hotel name, address, and phone number in Chinese and English) for backup.
⑤Write a note in Chinese and English, indicating the name, address and brief conversation of the place where the guest is going, in case of emergency.
⑥Give your mobile phone number to tourists when necessary.
(2) Ask for free activities after arriving at the tourist spot. After arriving at a certain tourist spot, if there are individual tourists who do not want to follow the prescribed route and want to tour or take photos freely, if the environment permits, (there are not too many tourists and the order is not chaotic) their request can be met. The tour guide should remind them of the time and place of the gathering and the bus number. If necessary, leave a note with the gathering time, location and bus number, as well as the name and phone number of the hotel, in case of emergency.
(3) It is required to act alone during free time or in the evening. Tour guides should advise not to go too far, not to carry valuables (which can be stored at the front desk), not to go to chaotic places, not to return to the hotel too late, etc.
(4) A few people ask to join in activities. When a small number of people are free to move around, the tour guides should be with the majority of tourists. They should not ignore the majority of people and accompany a few people to move alone. They should also ensure the full implementation of the tourism plan.
