What is travel agency liability insurance?

The "Travel Agency Regulations" will come into effect on May 1, 2009. Article 38: Travel agencies must insure travel agency liability insurance. The specific plan for travel agency liability insurance shall be formulated separately by the tourism administrative department of the State Council in conjunction with the insurance regulatory agency of the State Council. The "Travel Agency Liability Insurance Management Measures" shall come into effect on October 1, 2009. Article 2 Travel agencies established in accordance with the law within the territory of the People's Republic of China shall purchase travel agency liability insurance in accordance with the provisions of the "Travel Agency Regulations" and these Measures . Article 2 Travel agencies established in accordance with the law within the territory of the People's Republic of China and the People's Republic of China shall purchase travel agency liability insurance in accordance with the provisions of the "Travel Agency Regulations" and these Measures. The term “travel agency liability insurance” as mentioned in these Measures refers to the insurance subject to the compensation liability that a travel agency shall bear in accordance with the law to tourists and the persons appointed by it and providing services to tourists due to the tourism activities it organizes. Article 28 The tourism administrative departments at or above the county level shall supervise and inspect the travel agency liability insurance purchased by travel agencies in accordance with the law.
