Train T46 (now T44) passes through Xi 'an, Yan 'an, Shijiazhuang West and Beijing North. T46 adopts China Railway 25T passenger car, which is organized into 18 cars, including 7 soft sleeper cars, 6 hard sleeper cars, 3 hard seat cars, advanced soft sleeper cars and dining cars 1 car, which is the highest running passenger car model on the line at that time.

On July 1 day, 2005, on the occasion of the 84th anniversary of the founding of China * * * Production Party, the Ministry of Railways started T45/44 and T43/46 trains from Yan 'an to Beijing West, running along Beijing-Guangzhou Railway, Longhai Railway and Xiyan Railway, with a total length of1552km, and the running time was arranged according to the through express train.

The running time of the train is less than 16 hours, the average running speed is 97.6 kilometers, and the highest section speed is 160 kilometers. The preferential policy of speeding up without raising the price makes Yan 'an people no longer need to transit through Xi 'an, the provincial capital, which has played an important role in stimulating local economic and social development, especially Yan 'an's "red tourism" and is regarded as a "red train" by the people in the old areas.
