The plane Luxor International Airport mainly operates routes to and from several European countries and Middle Eastern countries, and of course also operates routes to and from major Egyptian cities such as Cairo and Aswan.
It takes about 1 hour to fly from Cairo to Luxor, and Egypt Airlines has 4-5 direct flights from Cairo to Luxor every day. But the plane ticket is more expensive. The airport is located 7 kilometers east of the city. Transportation from the airport to downtown:
Booking the shuttle bus provided by the hotel is free, and the specific charging details depend on the hotel.
Taxi, 30~40 Egyptian pounds. It should be noted that many people will stay at the exit and enthusiastically carry your luggage to the nearest shuttle bus or airport exit. This kind of "enthusiasm" needs a certain fee. If you don't want to, please politely refuse and take care of your luggage.
There is no bus service between the airport and downtown.
Luxor Railway Station is located in the modern El-Mahata Square. The train from Cairo to Aswan is very dense, passing Luxor Station. However, due to the strict restrictions on tourists, tourists can only buy berth tickets or one-way tickets. There are luggage storage service, magnetic card telephone and post office.
There are five main types of trains in Egypt:
Special (special) express: The train is air-conditioned and divided into first-class and second-class seats, so the train is a bit sold. Don't give up halfway or stop only once. This is the best train in Egypt.
Exp(Expresstrain): The train is air-conditioned and divided into first-class and second-class seats, so the train is a bit sold.
Ord (Ordinary Train) Train: There are second-class seats and third-class seats, which are mainly used by locals. The conditions are slightly worse and few foreign tourists ride. But if it's only two or three hours' drive, it doesn't hurt to sit down.
Ord+: Better than a regular car. There are only second-class seats, and some cars will be air-conditioned.
Sleeper: There are double rooms or single rooms with air conditioning, commode and towels. 1 hour later, the conductor will deliver dinner to the room. Dinner is free, but drinks are not. You don't need drinks. If necessary, please pay for the drinks when the conductor comes to clear the plates after dinner. Coffee and black tea for breakfast are free. In addition, there are tickets and you don't enjoy all the services mentioned above.
skill
If you want to take the daytime train to Luxor and don't want to buy an expensive berth ticket, the following methods are feasible:
1. To purchase tickets in official website, you need to pay by credit card, and print out the page (departure date and time, train number, train number and seat number) of successful booking.
You can get on the bus before buying a ticket, and you need to pay a handling fee of 3 Egyptian pounds. However, one problem with this way of purchasing tickets is that if the train is overcrowded, you may have to stand all the way from Cairo to Aswan.
Ask the Egyptians who are also waiting in line to buy tickets for you. In this case, you are likely to be asked to tip. Although it is officially stipulated that tickets are not sold to foreigners, there is no problem if you get on the train with a train ticket that is only sold to Egyptians.
There are three kinds of trains from Cairo to Luxor: express, Ord+ and sleeper.
Exp: 00: 05,0 1:00,08:00, 12:00,20:00,2 1:00,22:00,23: 15 (PS:
ORD+:07: 35, 10:30, 12:30, 15:30, 18:20(PS: 10:30 trains stop at Luxor. )
Sleeper: it leaves at 20: 15.
skill
Sleepers can use credit cards when buying train tickets, and they can use euros, dollars and Egyptian pounds; The cost of going to Luxor and Aswan by sleeper train is the same. If you want to get off at Luxor for a day or two before you take the train to Aswan, you must make it clear to the staff when you buy the ticket.
Different kinds of train journeys and fares (the following prices are for reference only):
Exp train, travel time 10 to1/hour, first class 1 1 3 Egyptian pounds, second class 57 Egyptian pounds; Ord+ train (without air conditioning), the journey time varies from 9 hours and 50 minutes to 12 hours, and the second class seat is 50 Egyptian pounds; Sleeper train, trip 10 hour and 25 minutes, 230 Egyptian pounds/bed (double room), 460 Egyptian pounds/bed (single room), ticket 17 1 Egyptian pounds.
coach
From Cairo to Luxor: There are several long-distance bus stations in Cairo, and the most convenient one is TurgomanBusStation, which is located between AhmedHelmyTerminal and Jiefang Square near Ramses Railway Station. You can go to various cities in Egypt by coach.
There are several major coach companies in Egypt, such as Superjet, UpperEgypt, MiidleDelta, WestDelta and EastDelta, which have frequent trains to various cities, especially popular cities such as Alexandria, Aswan and Luxor. From 7: 00 to 23: 00, there will be 1 multiple long-distance buses every hour. However, if you travel in the peak season, tickets will be sold quickly, and you need to book tickets one or even several days in advance.
It takes about 9 hours from Cairo to Luxor. The long-distance bus fare varies with car companies and lines, which is generally equal to the first-class fare of Exp train or the second-class fare of special train. Long-distance buses are generally equipped with air conditioning, toilets and car movies, and there is also a little heart supply. From Aswan to Luxor: From Aswan, you can take frequent long-distance buses to Luxor. The bus is in good condition and stops at all the towns it passes by. If you have enough time, you can get off at Edef, visit the Egyptian Eagle God Horus Temple, and have tea and smoke with local people in roadside shops. The journey takes five hours, and the fare is about RMB 30 yuan.
cruise
Travelers between Aswan and Luxor usually take cruise ships. Compared with sailing cruises, it may not be so special, but it is more comfortable and can deeply experience the beauty of the Nile. The price of different cruise ships will vary greatly, and the price of tickets purchased by the same cruise ship through different channels will sometimes vary greatly. Therefore, when buying cruise tickets, we should compare them more carefully in order to finally choose a cruise with higher cost performance.
From Aswan to Luxor
The voyage lasts for 3 days and 3 nights, and it costs about $300 per person, including 3 meals. Usually, you will arrive in Komobo by boat on the day of 1, spend the night at the next visit point that night, go ashore for a visit the next day and arrive in Luxor on the third day.
It takes five days to get from Luxor to Aswan, because it is driving in the opposite direction. The route reference is as follows:
1 day, enjoy buffet breakfast before visiting Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple, and then enjoy exotic belly dancing after a full meal in the evening.
The next day, I visited the Valley of the Emperor, the Valley of the Queen and the Hatshepsut Temple in the West Bank. Then I dressed up and attended the welcome party hosted by the captain, and chatted with my traveling companion for one night during my trip to Edfu.
On the third day, I visited Horus Temple in Edfu, then boarded a boat to Kangombo Temple and put on local costumes to attend Galabiya party.
On the fourth and fifth days, we visited Aswan Dam, Marble Quarry and Philae Temple. Drive past Aga Khan's Mausoleum and watch Nubian folk performances.
Bicycle Luxor has many places to rent bicycles, and the price ranges from 5 pesos to 20 pesos. You can rent different bicycles according to your driving skills. Pay attention to check the tires. You can also use your passport, ID card and student ID card as collateral. You can rent a car on both the east coast and the west coast, but the cars on the east coast are generally of higher quality and cheaper, and bicycles can also be taken on board, so you don't have to worry about crossing the river.
It should be noted that the east coast is not suitable for cycling because of the heavy traffic. The west coast is remote, so it is more convenient to ride. What's more, some locals will offer to look after your car, but they will charge you afterwards. So the best way is to buy a lock and be careful to avoid unnecessary losses.
Motorcycles Luxor has many motorcycles made in China. If you are a bargain hunter, you may get a price of 50 pesos per hour or even an ultra-low price of 50 pesos per day. In summer, there are few people on the west coast, so it is very pleasant to visit the ruins and hills by motorcycle.
Taxis in Luxor are divided into blue and white. Most taxis are very old Peugeot 504, but now there are more and more cars from Daewoo, Hyundai and Nissan. You don't have to hit the meter to take a taxi. You must negotiate the price in advance. Most hotels have price lists at the reception desk, which will list the reference prices of taxis to popular areas. You can also ask the hotel front desk for taxi prices. Under normal circumstances, the taxi price in the eastern city of Luxor will not exceed 10 Egyptian pounds.
Minibuses are a common means of transportation for local people in Luxor. You can recognize it at a glance in the street, and there are usually 14 rides on the bus. Minibuses usually take a fixed route, but there is no route map. Just wave your hand on the road and the bus will stop (unless there are no empty seats). Just say hello to the driver when you get off the bus. The price is about 1 Egyptian pound.
Sailing boats need to take a boat from the east coast to the west coast, and the lowest price fluctuates between 20 and 30 Egyptian pounds. It is best to take the local blue boat. A person only needs 1 Egyptian pound, sometimes it needs 0.5 Egyptian pound. The carriage will have a carriage line on the east coast, which can make a good tour of the city. Choose a good-looking driver before riding, and then set off after determining the price (when determining the price, pay attention to the price of the whole vehicle or the price of everyone, whether the price unit is US dollars or Egyptian pounds, etc. ), generally speaking, it is 20 pesos/hour, and the overall price of the carriage will not be higher than that of the taxi.
The plane at 1 o'clock on the morning of 26th was still full of excitement for my first trip abroad, but because I did more homework, I didn't feel so fresh about this trip. We are from the northeast. We asked for leave at noon on the 25th to prepare our luggage, and took the bullet train to Beijing at 4 pm. The arrival time in Beijing is 2 1: 00 14. Go to the airport quickly. Qatar Airways will start boarding three hours in advance and stop check-in one hour in advance. It takes about 1 hour to take a taxi to the airport, and the cost is about 100 yuan.
Round trip mode from Beijing Railway Station to Capital Airport 1. Airport bus operation time: 5: 00 a.m. to 265438+ 0:00 p.m., the departure interval is no more than 20 minutes, and passengers are full to leave at any time. According to the station setting, the ladder fare is implemented, which is divided into 15 yuan, 18 yuan, 2 1 yuan, 24 yuan and 30 yuan.
2. The subway airport line has four stops, namely Dongzhimen, Sanyuanqiao, Terminal 3 and Terminal 2.
T2:06:35-23: 10t 3:06:20-22:50
Dongzhimen: 06: 00-22: 30
All-day departure interval 10 minute. Ticket price 25 yuan/person.
3. The taxi fare is about 100 yuan.
For the above details, please refer to: official website, Beijing Capital International Airport.
Attached is a map of Beijing subway line: the purple and pink one is the airport line, and the subway will transfer from Dongzhimen to the airport line.
After boarding the plane, we went to see our new friends (Mr. Chen is from Wuhan and Helen is from Ann). After we met, we talked about the simple itinerary and went to wash. There was a free mobile phone charge at the airport, so we got confused to 12 and started waiting for the plane. We are staggered and never stay up late. We were miserable, finally boarded the plane and began to sleep.
Beautiful boarding pass.
The departure time is punctual. Blankets, cushions, toiletries, headphones, earplugs and eye masks were prepared for everyone on the plane, and the service was very intimate. The time difference between Beijing and Cairo is 6 hours, and the Beijing-Doha section has prepared dinner and breakfast for everyone, as well as meal selection recipes, which is 5 hours away from Doha.
The dessert on the plane is delicious.
When the plane circled over Cairo, the whole picture of Cairo was already displayed. There are many buildings that are not capped, and their eyes are khaki. Out of the airport, the heat wave at noon was overwhelming. The wretched Arab uncles in front of the airport are soliciting customers one by one. When they reach the city center, they will pay 50LE. Need to tell the driver how many people's expenses, including luggage. It is common to change your mind when you arrive at your destination. The garbage dump all over the street is drunk even if you think about it. From the airport to the city, you will pass through the rich area and the luxurious mosque sponsored by China. After passing through the rich areas, it is basically the true face of Cairo.
Airport to downtown 1. Taxi, the price is 50-60LE, don't be cheated.
2. Airport Bus No.356 is near the 1LE terminal (not tried).
3. Airport subway line (not yet opened, but I don't know what will happen in the future).
Tip 1. Currency exchange+calling card. You can exchange money at airports, local banks, banks and other places. At the airport, the exchange rate is about 7.58. You can get a mobile phone card at the exit: Vodafone.
And Mobinil, both of which need passports. We handle Mobinil, and the signal of 3G is average. The traffic of card 20LE+25LE is 1.25GB, which is ***45LE. As long as you don't make frequent video calls, the trip of 10 is completely enough. In addition, there will be many mobile phone shops and phone card franchise stores in the urban area, which may be cheaper than the airport.
I suggest you leave the airport with the big troops. If you go out alone, you may meet unexpected guests. Some airport personnel stopped you, took your luggage and said you wanted to check it. Then turn your back to the police and signal you to ask for a tip. Don't tip or leave luggage. In this case, you must be firm, speak Chinese, pretend you don't understand, don't give him money, and leave with your luggage.
2. Taxi. It's best to take a white taxi and find a young driver. Not all drivers can speak English, and it will be a waste of time to meet older drivers. A white taxi can hit the watch, but the watch jumps very fast, which is normal. Watch your watch, the driver may detour with you, so you have to open the mobile phone map from time to time and specify the place you want to go with him; Sometimes, if you don't want to involve too much energy, you can bargain with the driver. Of course, you must say where to go, the cash paid, the currency, single person or multiple people, one-way or round trip, whether the baggage fee is included and so on.
3. Security issues. Be sure to guard against theft, robbery and pervert when staying in the hotel, and take good care of your luggage. I've never seen a hotel stolen. In the street, especially in crowded nights, don't blatantly take photos with your mobile phone and play with it. It is very likely that the motorcycle man who is eyeing you took your mobile phone, and you can't catch up. Girls should not act alone at night. Personally, I feel that Cairo is not peaceful after 22:00 at night. This city is racing like crazy. It's so scary. You won't know what their game is unless you have seen it.
There is no need to worry about the overall security of Egypt, which is of great concern to everyone. There are policemen at every intersection, sentries on strange roads, security checks at scenic spots and front doors of hotels, and certificates and trunks for vehicles entering. As long as it is not close to government buildings, troops and police, there will be no big problem. Remember not to take pictures of the army and the police unless they agree.
The traffic in Cairo is very crowded, and there are basically no traffic lights in the city. You must be careful when crossing the road. This is what I must emphasize to you. Basic drivers have no reason to slow down when they are around you. The cars in the city are basically scarred and driving is fatal.
4. language. Mother tongue is Arabic, and only a few people can speak English. So don't worry about your English level, just speak up. If not, I will write some Arabic for him in the guide. However, it's best to ignore people who can speak English and talk to you. Those who can speak English basically pass by tourist swindlers. Don't believe what others say, pay attention to explain English to them (such as 15 or 50), otherwise they will play word games with you. It's best to ask some students or office workers for directions. They will be very enthusiastic. The Egyptian people are still very friendly. I feel that they are very helpful and United. I am very grateful to them. Now I feel that they like Asians.
Currency chart
I have taken 200LE as the highest denomination, and the smallest is 1LE.
Here, I want to remind you that you must prepare some small change. Please keep 1LE coins when going to the toilet (all public toilets are charged), and prepare an extra ticket of 5,10,20le. You can change some money in regular supermarkets and subways. Taxis, vendors, basically won't give you change. (For example, if you pay 20 for the fare of 17, you won't get your change. )
Taxi fare map
The cost is only the price at that time, including your own bargaining price. You can grasp the price around these, and don't be cheated.
Subway route map of Egypt urban area
Take the subway to Cairo 1. Note that the Sadat station in the middle is closed. But I don't know if you will drive after you go.
2. From left to bottom, at Giza Railway Station, you can get off at the pyramid, the subway station is on the second floor, and the railway station is on the first floor, so you can buy tickets. In Duji, there is a delicious mutton shop after getting off the bus. At the Opera Station, you can go to Burj Khalifa, Opera House and Egyptian Museum of Modern Art; At St. George's Station, you can go to the Hanging Temple and St. George's Church next to the station; Get off at Ataibai Station and take a taxi 20LE to khalili. At Ramses Station, you can go to the railway station, Egyptian Museum and Tahrir Square.
