Take the subway Hibiya Line from Ginza to Akihabara, which takes about 20 minutes one way. If the group can stay in Ginza for 2 hours, you can go to Akihabara by yourself.

There are more foreigners in Akihabara than other places, and there will be more people on weekends

I found a street in Akihabara, with shops selling anime on both sides. The only worry is that you don’t have enough time.
