Some time ago, we introduced the most popular "60,633 Yuan Snow Slow Train" in the Qinling Mountains and the only "Mountain Railway" on the Baocheng Railway. What I want to share with you today is a "watershed" in the Qinling Mountains. The Yuqingjiang watershed in the west of the Qinling Mountains is particularly worth visiting because of its magnificent scenery.

In fact, the three are related. The watershed lies in Qingjiang, Baoji, and Baoji-Chengdu Railway cross the watershed from Qingjiang River, and train 6063 is a low-cost green local train running on Baoji-Chengdu Railway.

I took the 6063 train of Baocheng Railway from Yuqingjiang into the mountains, crossed the Qinling Mountains and reached the watershed, and saw its magnificence.

Train 663 is a local train from Baoji, Shaanxi, and its terminal is Guangyuan, Sichuan. There is a round trip every day. The departure time from Baoji is 9:50 am. That day I took a train from Xi'an to Baoji Station and transferred to train 6063 there. As train 6063 rumbled towards the Qinling Mountains, at 11:08 am, I had already crossed the Qinling Mountains by train and arrived at the "Qinling" railway station south of the main ridge of the Qinling Mountains.

It is about 5 kilometers northeast of the Qinling Mountains North Foot Station. After exiting the station, you can walk along Provincial Highway 212. You will pass Dongheqiao Village, a farm village famous for its "Lingnan Tofu Feast", and Lingnan Park, an ice and snow resort. After passing a section of winding mountain road, a pass, and an arch gate, we arrived at the viewing platform of "Watershed". This journey takes about an hour to walk, or you can take a van taken by villagers to get to the watershed for 5 yuan.

Standing on the watershed at an altitude of about 1,500 meters, you will be stepping on the dividing line between north and south China, as well as the dividing line between the Yellow River system and the Yangtze River system: to the south of the watershed is the Jialing River of the Yangtze River system. It is the source of the Jialing River; north of the watershed is the Qingjiang River of the Yellow River system, which flows out from the Qingjiang River Basin and will flow into the Weihe River, a tributary of the Yellow River, in Weibin District, Baoji City.

In addition to geographical boundaries, there are also administrative boundaries, the big archway of Fenshuiling Pass, and the boundary between Weibin District and Feng County of Baoji City. The archway is located in the south of Feng County and the north of Weibin District.

Standing on the watershed, although you cannot intuitively see how the north and south water systems are divided under your feet, you can clearly feel the difference between the north and south of the Qinling Mountains.

North of the divide lie narrow valleys and steep peaks, almost uninhabited. Provincial Highway 212 starting from Baoji City keeps drawing one bend after another in the mountains in order to climb up the watershed, forming a winding mountain road that stretches as far as the eye can see. In the middle of this provincial road, there is a famous pass - Dashan Pass. The predecessor of this provincial road 212 is Chencang Road, which was opened during the Zhou and Qin Dynasties.

Provincial Highway 212 itself is also a road with a lot of stories. Built in the 1930s of the Republic of China, it was the first highway in the history of the Qinling Mountains, a section of the Sichuan-Shaanxi Highway including the Bao (Ji) and Han (Middle) Roads.

South of the watershed is where you just got off the train from Qinling Railway Station. This is Dongheqiao Village, Huangniupu Town, Feng County, the first valley at the source of the Jialing River. The mountains are paved with flat Sichuan Road, and Provincial Highway 212 stretches along the Jialing River into the distance. There are many people living along the river, and it has a mountainous pastoral scenery.

There is a "Qinling" monument in the north and south of the watershed. One is on the boundary of Weibin District. It is relatively tall, has a relatively new font, and is very powerful. Next to it is the towering statue of Emperor Yan.

On the border of Feng County, the monument is smaller and older, and the font is in traditional Chinese. In the 28th year of the Republic of China, when the Sichuan-Shaanxi Highway was opened in 1939, Song Xishang, director of the Northwest Highway Transportation Bureau, inscribed it.

Although the scenery of Lingnan Park is relatively plain, due to its convenient access and no tickets, it has become a place for people to enjoy snow and rime.

This watershed between Weibin District and Fengxian County in Baoji not only perfectly reflects the differences between the north and south of the Qinling Mountains, but also gives people a shocking visual experience. After enjoying the scenery in the north of the watershed, you can return south to Huangniupu, Feng County. Play in the snow in Lingnan Park next to Provincial Highway 212 (the woods on the roadside belong to Lingnan Park).

Return to Dongheqiao Village near Qinling Station and taste Lingnan tofu banquet, mutton bubbles, minced pork noodles, etc.

Take bus No. 6064 back to Baoji Railway Station at 4:20 pm and arrive in Baoji at 5:50 pm.
