Laixi Lake is a national AAA tourist scenic spot and a national water conservancy scenic spot.

Laixi Lake is located in Laixi City, Qingdao City, Shandong Province, also known as the reservoir for producing cheese. Located in the middle and upper reaches of the main stream of Dagu River, it is 0/0 km away from Laixi City 1958. It is a comprehensive national large-scale reservoir integrating flood control, irrigation, water supply, fish farming and tourism. The dam is 2.5 kilometers long, with a drainage area of 879 square kilometers and a maximum water area of 56 square kilometers, with a total storage capacity of 402 million cubic meters. It is the largest reservoir in Jiaodong Peninsula. It is about 5 kilometers away from the city center, and the main trunk lines such as Tongshan Expressway, weilai expressway, Loi Siu Road, Longshui Road and Huang Qing Road run through the whole territory. Located in the radiation centers of Qingdao, Yantai, Weihai and Weifang, it is 0/00 km away from the four cities/kloc, with convenient transportation. It is a unique lake-type comprehensive ecological leisure area. The leisure area was founded in 1987 and opened to the public in 1989. It receives about 500,000 Chinese and foreign tourists every year. Known as the Pearl of the Peninsula, it has been awarded the titles of "National AAA Tourist Scenic Spot", "National Water Conservancy Scenic Spot", "Provincial Leisure Fishery Demonstration Site" and "Integrity Unit of Tourism Enterprises".

The leisure area takes Laixi Lake as the main body, relying on the surrounding pastoral scenery, forest and natural landscape, religion and folk culture. There are both vast lakes and endless natural forests of pine and cypress, with beautiful natural environment and high negative oxygen ion content, which is known as natural oxygen bar. The leisure area covers an area of 4,800 hectares, including 4,000 hectares of water area and 800 hectares of forest area. Road around the lake16m wide. There are more than 30 kinds of fish in the lake, including carp, crucian carp, silver carp and whitebait, which are rich in meat and nutrition. With this advantage, the leisure area has launched a "fish feast" with 128 products, which is quite famous in Jiaodong. The scenic spots built in the leisure area mainly include: Lakeside Square, lakeside park, Fishing Lake, Ma Yin, Dam Three-dimensional Garden, Xishan Park, Fishing Arena, Right Angle Mountain, etc. Among them, the fishing lake and fishing grounds have a planned area of 900 mu, which can provide fishing services for more than 3,000 people at the same time. Rongxin Island is built in the fishing lake, with a planned area of 100 mu. Mayinshan is located in the northeast of Laixi Lake, covering an area of 250 mu and surrounded by water. It is a hilly landform, overlooking the mountains, and the water and the sky are the same. The island is lush, lined with cypress trees, with beautiful natural scenery, its cliffs and the wonders of splashing cliffs, making it an excellent place for leisure and sightseeing. Since the opening of Laixi Lake Ecological Recreation Zone, a series of colorful entertainment projects, such as water entertainment and leisure fishing, have been launched one after another, enriching the exhibition content of the scenic spot and enhancing its popularity. The activities mainly include: fishing competition, rowing and other water sports activities and military exercises, beach volleyball competition, cross-country cycling competition, special catering, self-help fishing, grape gallery, children's entertainment activities, patriotic education activities, sightseeing orchards, agricultural scenery gardens, ecological wetland viewing and so on.

In addition to its great role in flood control and irrigation, Chanzhi Reservoir also develops freshwater aquaculture. At present, the aquaculture water surface reaches 25,000 mu, mainly including more than 20 species such as carp, grass carp, crucian carp, bream, silver carp, white striped fish, turtle and catfish. In 1990s, a kind of rare fish, Pseudosciaena crocea, was developed, and the economic benefit was very considerable. The reservoir also has a fish farm and a fry hatchery of 200 mu, with an annual hatching capacity of 30 million. It is the production base of fry and fish in surrounding counties and cities.
