Brief introduction of Tang Xi ancient town
Xitang, located in Jiashan County, Zhejiang Province, is one of the birthplaces of ancient Wuyue culture, with a long history, and is known as the "Millennium Ancient Town". As one of the ancient towns in China, Xitang is characterized by basically maintaining the original ecology of the water town. As early as in history, Xitang was known as "Land of Fish and Rice, House of Silk". Today, Xitang is a world historical and cultural heritage protection zone, the first batch of famous historical and cultural towns in China, and a national AAAA-level tourist attraction. Today, Xitang still preserves the complete ancient buildings of Ming and Qing Dynasties, especially the verandah and Gu Xiang, which are rare among many ancient water towns in the south of the Yangtze River, so it is called "the living Millennium ancient town". The ancient town is shrouded in clouds, with white walls and ink roofs on both sides, reflections of tile houses, sparkling ship shadows, and the entrance to a yard by chance. Is Xitang fun?
Xitang is different from Zhouzhuang and Wuzhen, and its most distinctive feature is the veranda shed.
The ancient town of Tang Xi, known as Xutang and Xietang in ancient times, also known as Pingchuan, is rich in historical and cultural accumulation. During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, Xitang was the border between wuyue and China, so it was also called the corner of Wugen. Xitang has flat terrain, vertical and horizontal rivers, very quiet natural environment, green waves everywhere, and every family faces the water. There are well-preserved Ming and Qing architectural communities in the town, and the veranda Gu Xiang can be called a "double wonder". The ancient town of Tang Xi is famous for its numerous bridges, alleys and corridors. Xitang has simple folk customs and melodious paddles, which are permeated with the unique humanistic accumulation of China ancient traditional culture. The ancient town of Tang Xi protects the harmonious relationship between man and nature, and is a holy place for experts to study the folk culture of water towns in the south of the Yangtze River. The former site of Xitang Xiyuan is located in Jijiaxiang, West Street. In the Ming Dynasty, Zhu once operated alone and then sold it. There are trees, flowers, rockeries, pavilions and ponds in the park with beautiful scenery. There is a "Tingtaoxuan" teahouse on the rockery on the east side, so it is named because there is 1 Pinus bungeana on the rockery, which is several feet high and the wind comes and the millet falls. /kloc-in the winter of 0/920, the poet Liu Yazi came to Xitang. I once lived in Xiyuan, where I took photos with friends from Xitangnan. His topic is "the second picture of the collection of Xiyuan Ya".
1in March, 990, in memory of Liu Yazi's visit to Xiyuan, a park with a total area of 16.6 mu was built in the west hill of the town, named Xiyuan. At the entrance of the park, there are small bridges and flowing water, Shishi Pavilion, and there are brick galleries, waterside pavilions, curved bridges, rockeries, pavilions and artificial waterfalls around the park. Zuiyuan was built in the Ming Dynasty, and now the quadrangles are well preserved. There are three entrances in the park, namely, hall, corridor, green pond and bluestone, and bamboo in the corridor, which is intoxicating. What impressed me most was the small brick bridge in the yard, which was exquisite, ornamental and practical. Wang's poetry and calligraphy have been handed down from generation to generation, his grandfather is good at calligraphy, and his father and son are obsessed with printmaking. The most famous scenic spot in the ancient town of Tang Xi is a corridor shed with a simple shape, which is nearly a kilometer long. The so-called corridor shed is actually a street with a roof. Some of the verandahs in Xitang are by the river, some are in the middle, and some are equipped with back stools for people to rest along the river. The veranda is mainly made of brick and wood, covered with monochrome tiles and built along the river, commonly known as "falling into the water". Not only can you shelter from the wind and rain, but you can also stop to see the scenery. There are also unique small commodities along the way. Walking in it, a feeling of nostalgia arises spontaneously. Shipinong
Shipilong was built in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, with a total length of 68 meters and made of 66 stones. The narrowest point is only 0.8 meters. Shipinong is the representative of Xitang Gu Xiang. It is said that it was originally a passage for footmen of large families to walk. Shuiyang Building is located in the home of a xu teacher in Lane, with exquisite Ming and Qing furniture to visit. Wentang statue
Baishou Hall, built at the end of Yuan Dynasty and the beginning of Ming Dynasty, is a unique hall. There are patterns on the beams, corridors and windows in the temple, which are lifelike in shape, exquisite in knife work and exquisite in carving.
Fangzhai
Huanxiu Bridge was a part of the largest square house in Xitang that year, "Tongcun Yaju", and hundreds of bonsai plants added a lot of life to this old house. There are many scenic spots in Xitang, large and small, as well as Yaozhai, Yantaju and Laifeng Bridge, which are all worth visiting.

Most of these ancient bridges are single-hole stone pillars and wooden bridges, which have been preserved intact so far. Zhaixiang is another major feature of Xitang, which is divided into a street lane connecting two parallel streets, a water lane connecting Qianjie and Houhe, and a companion lane located at the inner hall side of the mansion. 122 alleys crisscross, building the overall framework of the ancient town, connecting the new old city.
