Ordos means "numerous palaces" in Mongolian and is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Located in the southwest of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, in the hinterland of the Ordos Plateau, with a total area of ??87,000 square kilometers, Ordos belongs to the north temperate semi-arid continental climate zone, with large changes in winter, summer, cold and heat.
