One cruise ship and one city, the luxury of the cruise ship will subvert your imagination, the world’s largest cruise ship (1)

A cruise ship, a city, the world's largest is called the Symphony of the Seas, with a gross tonnage of 228,081 gross tons, more than four times the size of the Titanic. It is 362 meters long and has restaurants, shops, bars, a huge swimming pool, a cinema and even a golf course. It can be regarded as a real city. The biggest advantage of being on a cruise ship is that you can enjoy the endless blue ocean, the blue sky above your head, the wind, and the sunshine. It is simply a dreamlike experience.

Cruise ships have gotten bigger and bigger over the years and have dominated the travel industry since the Titanic. But sipping champagne on a cruise ship, sailing under the stars and fireworks, and soaking up the sights, sounds and fragrances of the waters and ports along the way, is by far the most enjoyable way to travel abroad.

The following introduces the 16 largest cruise ships in the world for everyone to enjoy.

Make plans to escape the humdrum of everyday life and sail aboard a Norwegian Escape Cruiser in the coming year. The ship is the second Breakaway Plus class ship owned and operated by Norwegian Cruise Line. The ship, built by Meyer Werft of Papenburg, Germany, made its first voyage in 2015 from Hamburg to Southampton. Weighing approximately 165,157 gross tons, the cruiser is lighter and smaller than her sister ship Joy and is therefore less suitable for long-distance travel. Her first transatlantic voyage through Miami lasted a full year and allowed guests to stay in the Caribbean islands for seven nights.

The Escape is homeported in Miami and plans to venture from there to Tortola, British Virgin Islands. St. Thomas and Nassau, U.S. Virgin Islands, Bahamas. The frame, while much smaller, is designed in a similar way to its sisters, the Bliss and Joy. There are over 2,000 cabins and can easily accommodate over 4,000 guests. In addition, the cruise ship is full of clubs, bars, restaurants, swimming pools, theatres, decks and balconies, providing residents with a wealth of entertainment activities.

Joy is part of the Breakaway Plus class of Norwegian Cruise Line, a well-known company in the industry. Joy and her sister Escape are both part of the same cruise line, launching sometime in 2015. The Joy weighs approximately 167,725 gross tons, is 333.46 feet long, and can accommodate nearly 3,880 passengers at a time. The cruise ship was designed by Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany, specifically to meet the needs of the Chinese market. One of the main reasons for this situation is that Joy has a sponsor, Chinese singer Wang Leehom. Joy is about to relocate to new home ports in Tianjin and Shanghai.

There is another cruise ship called Norwegian Bliss set to launch in 2019 and follow in the footsteps of her sister Joy and Escape. There are reports that the cruise ship will be relocated to Dubai. However, other ports on this maiden voyage have not yet been announced. Joy is very spacious and powerful, with 5 main engines propelling it at sea. The framework contains more than a thousand cabins, theaters, spas, swimming pools, bars, nightclubs, gyms, decks and dining options where you can spend your time.

Carnival of the Seas is the third and final ship in the Quantum of the Seas class series and is nearly $14,000 more expensive than the Freedom-line cruise ships. It is the second largest passenger ship, weighing 168,666 gross tons, manufactured by Royal Caribbean, after the Oasis. Carnival of the Seas begins her journey from Tianjin during the summer and lands in Sydney during the southern summer. The entire framework of the cruise is very similar to other Quantum of the Seas class ships, except that Carnival of the Seas is slightly smaller (a few meters) compared to the other two. Carnival of the Seas, also part of the Sunshine Plan, has over a thousand cabins, some with decks and balconies, while others feature huge windows and wheelchairs for seniors or those with disabilities. There is no shortage of entertainment here, you can check out theaters, spas, bars, casinos, nightclubs, swimming pools, sports centers, art galleries, observation decks, restaurants and much more.

Carnival of the Seas embarks on a 52-day global odyssey from Southampton sometime in 2016, with its final destination being Tianjin, China. In early 2019, the cruise ship plans to reposition in Sydney before embarking on a seven-day trip to Alaska.

Anthem of the Seas is the second largest ship in the Quantum class, surpassing the Liberty by nearly 14,000 gross tons. Anthem, owned by Royal Caribbean International, was built on April 10 and christened on April 20, 2015. It was built at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, and delivered in autumn 2014 under Project Sunshine. Anthem first set sail from her homeport in Southampton, UK, in 2015 in preparation for her European summer cruises. It was during this trip that she was officially christened by British travel agent Emma Wilby. The inaugural voyage is an eight-night cruise to Spain and France.

From there, the ship travels to the Mediterranean, Northern Europe and the Canary Islands. During November, the cruiser operates 7- to 12-night itineraries to the Caribbean and Bahamas from Cape Liberty, Bayonne, New Jersey, USA.

Song of the Sea has a gross tonnage of 168,666 gross tons and is very similar in structure to the Quantum Ship. There are 16 cabins, 8 of which have open balconies. The cabins meet all the needs of guests; some of them are even equipped with wheelchairs to support people with some disabilities. In addition to this, there are sports fields, observation towers, wave pools, bars, theaters, casinos, restaurants and plenty of lounges to relax in.

Royal Caribbean has launched quite a few cruises sailing in the Atlantic and Caribbean. We've already discussed the Oasis range and mentioned the Liberty class cruise ships (albeit briefly). Quantum of the Seas is the lead ship for Quantum-class cruise ships beyond the Freedom Line. It is the second largest passenger ship, weighing 140,00 gross tons heavier than the previous cruise ship. Quantum of the Seas weighs 168,666 and is built as part of Project Sunshine at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. Quantum of the Seas spent its first few years sailing in Cape Liberty, Bayonne, New Jersey, USA, before finally returning to her home port of China in May 2015. After 2015, however, the ship ventured far-reaching, sailing three to eight year-round itineraries from Shanghai to Japan and South Korea. She arrived in Hong Kong sometime on June 10, 2015.

Quantum of the Seas was christened on November 14, 2014 by American actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth. The ship features 16 passenger decks, 8 of which have balconies overlooking the sea. Beyond that, there are 2,090 cabins on the pool deck, two-level penthouse suites, studios, restaurants, a casino, bars, a concert hall and even a kung fu-themed noodle shop.

MSC Meravilla is the lead ship of the Vista Project ships owned and operated by MSC Cruises, which only made its debut in June 2017. It was built at the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France. Meravilla weighs approximately 171,598 gross tons and is considered Royal Caribbean’s fourth largest cruise ship after the Oasis-class ships. The ship was initially restricted to sailings in the Mediterranean, covering Malta, Barcelona, ??Marseille, Genoa, Naples, Messina, Civitavecchia and Palermo during her inaugural season.

MSC Meravilla can accommodate about 4,500 guests at a time, but news of an expanded ship design has been circulating in the tabloids. Meravilla is large enough to provide a complete vacation experience for passengers onboard the cruise ship. The promenade features an LED roof, followed by a water park, 3-4 water slides, Himalayan ropes course, two theaters (one at the stern), over 10 restaurants and a luxury spa.

MSC Majestic, owned by MSC Cruises and built in France, is one of three Meravilla Plus-class cruise ships with a capacity of over 6,000 passengers. She completed sea trials and entered service in autumn 2019. Named after legendary actress Sophia Loren of yesteryear, MSC Majestic has sailed across the Mediterranean, calling at Genoa, Barcelona, ??Marseille and Rome.

In 2020, she will be transferred to Brazil for a South American tour, but these plans are on hold for the time being. In late summer 2020, MSC Majestic became the first major cruise ship to return to sea after a five-month hiatus. However, shore excursions are sanctioned by the MSC and strictly supervised by them.
