Conditions for long-term residence in Taiwan Province:

According to the Regulations on Relations between People in Taiwan and Mainland China,

People in mainland China may apply for residence in Taiwan Province under any of the following circumstances:

1. Spouses of people in Taiwan Province, who have been married for two years or have given birth to children.

2. Other considerations based on politics, economy, society, education, science and technology or culture are deemed necessary by the competent authority.

3. If the spouse in Taiwan Province remarried before November 1, 1976, the application should be approved by the remarried spouse.

In any of the following circumstances, the public security organs may force people from mainland China who enter Taiwan Province to leave the country without waiting for the start or end of judicial proceedings:

1. Those who enter the country without permission.

2. those who have entered the country with permission and have exceeded their stay period.

3. engage in activities or workers that are inconsistent with the permitted purpose.

4. Those who believe that they have committed a crime.

5. Those who have sufficient reasons to believe that there is a danger of endangering national security or social stability.
