Douzhuang ancient castle is the first of its kind in rural castle construction. Douzhuang Village's "Doushi Family Tree" records: "My family took a ride, from the Han Dynasty to the Song Dynasty, and the ancestors went up. The original ancestors were from Ping Ling and Korea, and the genealogists were all from Ping Ling. Since there is no test, it is far away. That is, the Han (Yi) Lord protector, because the official does not return, lives in Douzhuang Village, Duanshi County, Zezhou, Hedong. According to ancient documents, the Dou family had moved to Duanshi in Qinshui long before the Northern Song Dynasty. General Cemetery, the west side of Douzhuang Village, has a record in "Tombstone of General Dou" written by Dousi during the reign of Kangxi in Qing Dynasty: Douzhuang's "ancestor taboo _, the word Tingyu, Song Zhezong Dynasty's solemn wife is expensive, and he gave it to General Zuo Tunwei, and his ancestor Luo Shi, and gave it to the Taijun of Yichun County. I first lived in Duanshi Town, this county, and later I was buried here, and my descendants lived in the tomb. " It can be seen that there is a woman in Duan's sinus who was accepted as a concubine by Song Zhezong. As a result, Dou's family flourished and became a local dignitary, with dozens of officials in the DPRK. After the death of Dou _, Song Zhezong personally gave the cemetery at the foot of Woniu Mountain in Qinshui, and Dou's family built Lu for guarding the tomb, and lived for generations, thus forming Dou Zhuang. According to Guangxu's Qinshui County Records, in terms of official career, Dou's Jiake extended to the Qing Dynasty. Since the Song Dynasty, there have been two scholars in Dou's family, 12 in the family, and one in the martial arts.

Dou's family was the earliest owner of Douzhuang, but it was the Zhang family who really made Douzhuang famous in the world. In the Song Dynasty, the Zhang family was only a local Tu subaltern and the grave keeper of the Dou family. In the Ming Dynasty, after Zhang's family became an official in the fifth code of Zhang in the twentieth year of Wanli (1592), the scholarly family passed on, and talented people came forth in large numbers for a while, lasting for ten generations, and its power has surpassed that of Dou's family. According to Guangxu's Qinshui County Records, in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, there were 6 Jinshi and 15 Juren in Douzhuang Zhang.

Douzhuang is the earliest existing castle in Qinhe Valley. Douzhuang Town, which has a history to test, was originally built in the late Northern Song Dynasty. The existing ancient city of Douzhuang was built by Jinshi in the 2th year of Wanli in Ming Dynasty (1592), Dali Temple Qing and Zhang Wudian, the minister of war. "Biography of the History of Ming Dynasty" said that "there will be chaos in the five codes, and it is very strong to build a castle in Douzhuang." The construction of Douzhuang began in the third year of the Ming Dynasty (1623) and was completed in the third year of Chongzhen (163), which took seven years to complete. At that time, Doushi's inner and outer cities, with nine gates and nine customs, left a folk song of "Tianxiazhuang, several Douzhuang, Douzhuang is a small Beijing".

In the second year after Douzhuang was built, in May of the fourth year of Chongzhen in the Ming Dynasty, Zhang Xianzhong and Wang Jiayin led peasant rebels from Shaanxi to Shanxi. At this time, Dou Zhuang and Zhang Wudian had passed away, and his son Zhang Quan was martyred. Children and grandchildren are officials outside, and only Zhang Quan's wife, Huo Shi, is in charge at home. The people asked Huo to take refuge far away. Mrs. Huo said: "If you avoid thieves, you will lose your home." When you meet a thief, your health is even more precarious. It is better to die at home. " The lady organized the men and women in the village to form soldiers to protect the village, practice martial arts day and night and guard the manor. In June, Wang himself led the rebel army to attack Douzhuang. Mrs. Huo led her servants to defend the city and fight against the bandits. The peasant army attacked for four days and nights and finally could not leave. In the second year, the peasant army attacked Douzhuang twice, but both failed. "Ming History" records that all the counties in Zelu were captured by the rebel army except the small castle in Douzhuang. "Biography of the Heroes of the Ming Dynasty" records that Wang Zhaosheng, a soldier of the Ming Dynasty, praised "Douzhuang City" as "Lady City". The emperor also personally gave the jade pen "Yan Gui Chuan Fang".

At present, the well-preserved buildings in Douzhuang include more than ten courtyards in Ming and Qing Dynasties, such as Shangshufu, Shangxiazhai, Jiuzhaiyuan, Flagstaff Courtyard, Wukui Courtyard, Changjiayuan and Gugongtang, as well as Buddhist Temple, guanyin temple, Sansheng Pavilion, Wufenglou, Farming and Reading Courtyard and South Garden. These courtyard buildings have become an important symbol of the history of Douzhuang.

There are tourist attractions such as Zhao Shuli's former residence, Xiangyu Castle, Qinshui Lishan National Forest Park, Liu's residence and Qinshui Demonstration Ranch near Douzhuang Village, and there are some specialties such as Qinshui yellow millet, Qinshui locust honey, Qinshui black goat, Qinshui black fungus, and seven-beard day lily.
