Comoros has good potential for tourism development, but why is it not called a tourist destination?

01. Tourism resources are rich, but not developed

Comoros can be said to be an island country, because the entire country is composed of four islands, with beautiful scenery and many countries. It can be said that the tourism resources are very rich, such as volcanic salt lakes. However, it is difficult to convert Comoros’ natural resources into tourism resources, because it is one of the poorest countries in the world. Without money, there is no way to invest in the development of tourism. Even if it barely develops, it cannot support the huge tourism industry. Tourism system: Domestic people basically rely on agriculture to make a living. Agriculture is the pillar industry of the entire country. This undeveloped state limits the development of Comoros' tourism industry.

02. The country is not very big, but the transportation system is backward.

Comoros is relatively backward in development, so even though a lot of money has been invested in the construction of the transportation system, the country still has no Build railroads. Railways have greatly facilitated modern people's travel. Without railways and only buses, not only would the tourism industry not be able to develop, but daily travel would also be inconvenient. In particular, Comoros's tourism industry is mainly based on imports. The vast majority of tourists who come to Comoros are developed countries such as European countries. Therefore, the lack of a complete transportation system prevents Comoros from becoming a tourist destination.

03. The political situation in Comoros is in turmoil, and a lot of energy has not been invested in the development of tourism.

Comoros has only begun to stabilize in recent years. Since the last century Comoros became a French colony at the beginning and had no sovereignty of its own for many years. It was not until the mid-1970s that it achieved independence and truly became a country with independent rights. The post-21st century has experienced another political crisis. It is indeed difficult for such a far-from-peaceful country to develop tourism just a few years after it regained stability.

So although Comoros has rich tourism resources, its conditions in all aspects cannot keep up, so it has not become a tourist destination.
