Titan of Di Temple Weekend Travel Guide Is the Temple of Di Temple fun?
The Temple of Earth is the most famous scenic spot in Beijing and is very well-known. It is also an altar where ancient emperors worshiped the God of Earth. Now it has become a famous urban park, attracting the attention of tourists from all over the world. Here is a specific strategy guide.
With a history of nearly 500 years, it is the largest existing altar in China and a national 4A scenic spot. How much is the admission fee? Only 2 yuan!
2 yuan is just a bottle of water, but you can see a park that is more than 500 years old. What a bargain, which shows the conscience of Beijing’s scenic spots.
Ditan Park, also known as Fangzetan, is the second largest altar among the five major altars in Beijing. It was founded during the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty. The emperor who was obsessed with Taoism never ignored the sacrificial culture. The Temple of the Sun, the Temple of the Moon, and the Temple of Earth Park were all built by him.
The park is very large, covering an area of ??555 acres. As a place where emperors of the Ming and Qing Dynasties worshiped the "God of the Land", the park has complete rules and regulations. There are existing historical buildings such as the Fangze Altar, the Forbidden City, the Archway, and the Prison Palace.
Fangze Altar is the main sacrificial place. According to the ancient traditional design of "Heaven and Earth" and "Tian Qing Di Huang", you can see many squares in different directions, which represent stability and stability. The square stones here are all even numbers, which conforms to the "local" emphasis.
Every lunar summer solstice or major state events, the emperor of the current dynasty would go to Fangze Altar to worship and pray for "good weather, prosperity and peace." If he does not come in person, he must be replaced by a prince. When ancient emperors offered sacrifices to heaven and earth, they emphasized that they had been blessed by heaven and highlighted their majesty and holiness as kings.
Zaiting is the place where animals were slaughtered before royal sacrifices in ancient times. The killing ceremony is held here the day before the first moment of each sacrifice. Unfortunately, it was not open on the day I went, leaving only a cold red door.
The overall impression of Ditan Park is that of simplicity and coldness, white marble, solemn and low-key red walls, mysterious and beautiful. It's because the 500-year history gives it a rich flavor of vicissitudes, and it's because of its aloofness. People like me were rarely exposed to it, and even now it seems out of reach or even incomprehensible.
In addition to the sacrificial culture, this is also a place to explore ancient times and visit secluded places. There are 176 ancient trees in the park, including 90 first-class trees, most of which are over 300 years old. Mainly trees, cypresses and pine, evergreen all year round. The trees are majestic, with fluttering branches and leaves, their posture is like a dancing phoenix, their breath is like a dragon's pan, and their momentum is like that of Beijing. They have a strong tenacity.
The most beautiful season in Ditan Park is late autumn. There are two ginkgo avenues in the park. When they are golden and dazzling, it makes the place look like a fairy tale world. I came here in the fall and it’s really beautiful here. Walking on the avenue paved with ginkgo leaves, it suddenly feels like a dream, as if you are in a beautiful golden picture. It is a favorite place for photography lovers.
There are many pigeons in the park. They've probably been here since birth. They are more like park owners than tourists, so they are bold enough to jump in front of you to eat. Feeding pigeons in Ditan Park has become a must-go experience. The pigeons are not white, gray or blue, and look more down-to-earth.
Ditan Park is a corner that is ignored by tourists, and more local elderly people come here. The environment here is good and there is a beautiful health garden. I have been wondering if there is a nursing home nearby, because I often see old people in wheelchairs chatting with each other and telling stories about their youth.
Ditan Park has convenient transportation and is directly accessible by subway, eliminating the need for running around. This is a quiet and wellness park. In your free time on weekends, you can read, take a walk and feel the rich history here.
