What institutions are there under the Cultural Tourism Bureau?

The subordinate institutions of the Cultural Tourism Bureau include the Cultural Bureau, the Radio, Film and Television Bureau and the Tourism Bureau.

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism is an integral part of the State Council and a ministerial department. The functions of the Cultural Tourism Bureau include:

1, study and formulate cultural and tourism policies and measures, and draft cultural and tourism laws and regulations; 2, overall planning of cultural undertakings, cultural industries and tourism development;

3. Manage major national cultural activities and guide the construction of key national cultural facilities;

4. To guide and manage literary and artistic undertakings and to guide artistic creation and production;

5. Promote the construction of national public cultural service system and tourism public service;

6. Guide and promote the innovative development of culture and tourism science and technology;

7, responsible for the protection of intangible cultural heritage;

8. Organize the investigation, excavation, protection and utilization of cultural tourism resources;

9. Complete other tasks assigned by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council.

In order to strengthen and highlight cultural self-confidence, make overall plans for cultural undertakings, cultural industry development and tourism resources development, improve national cultural soft power and Chinese cultural influence, and promote the integrated development of cultural undertakings, cultural industries and tourism, the plan proposes to integrate the responsibilities of the Ministry of Culture and the National Tourism Administration, and set up the Ministry of Culture and Tourism as a component of the State Council. The Ministry of Culture and the National Tourism Administration will no longer be retained.
