Nanyue Hengshan is located in Nanyue District, Hengyang City.
Mount Heng, also known as Nanyue, Shouyue and Nanshan, is one of the "Five Mountains" in China. It is located in the southeast of central Hunan Province, China, stretching between the Hengyang and Xiangtan basins. The main part is located in Nanyue District, Hengshan County and the eastern part of Hengyang County in Hengyang City. The name of Hengshan Mountain is recorded in the "Gan Shi Xing Jing" during the Warring States Period. Because it is located on the wings of the Zhen star in the twenty-eight stars of the constellation, it "reflects the weight" and "is a virtuous and powerful object". It is like a weighing instrument and can be called heaven and earth, so it is named Hengshan Mountain.
