How to compensate for the cancellation of tour groups?

Legal analysis: According to the demonstration text of the domestic tourism contract of the National Tourism Administration team, tourists and travel agencies can cancel the contract in writing before traveling. If the contract is terminated more than 7 days before departure, both parties shall not be liable for breach of contract. However, if termination is proposed later, the party proposing termination shall bear the liability for breach of contract.

If the travel agency cancels the contract within 7 days before departure, it shall refund all the expenses to the tourists and pay liquidated damages: from 7 to 4 days before departure, the liquidated damages shall be10% of the total travel expenses; 3 days before departure to 1 day is15%; 20% on the day of departure. If the passenger cancels the contract 7 to 4 days before departure, the penalty is 50% of the total travel expenses; 3 days before departure to 1 day 60%; 80% on the day of departure.

Legal basis: Article 67 of the Tourism Law of the People's Republic of China affects the travel itinerary due to force majeure or events that cannot be avoided after the travel agency or the performance coordinator has fulfilled their duty of care. If the contract is terminated, the package tour agency shall return the rest to the tourists after deducting the non-refundable fees paid to the ground agency or performance assistant.
