As a student who will devote himself to water conservancy construction in the future, it is something I have been planning in my mind to know the frontier dynamics of my major and the employment prospect and development trend of my major. It is also my dream to choose to visit the Three Gorges Dam this time. Without seeing the real Three Gorges Dam, how can you be considered a person in the water conservancy industry? Usually, teachers often mention various theoretical knowledge and technologies used and created in the construction of the Three Gorges Dam in class. I have also seen many pictures and videos. I also know a long list of names of various hydraulic structures, but what they look like and what their physical dimensions will feel in practice. The concrete things are displayed in abstract form, and I am numb, so this time it is imperative!

After the train and bus, we crossed the rolling Yangtze River and the atmosphere of Xiling Yangtze River Bridge. The sound and figure of the Three Gorges Dam are looming in the drizzle. Through the window, we saw the downstream of the Three Gorges Dam across the Yangtze River. The dam body is slender and narrow, not as huge as expected, and we think it can be supported by the top leaders. This is mainly because we are still one or two kilometers away from it. White water vapor, gray of dam body and head are mixed in it. The Yangtze River water can only be spit out from its mouth, and the scattered white water vapor floats in front of it like a veil. At the same time, the heavy sound of water makes people feel that a big flood is coming, and their hearts are pounding and they can't stand it. I can't wait to run to the dam to see enough. The front of the car passed several checkpoints guarded by armed police. There are not many vehicles coming and going in the driveway, and a military vehicle is strung out from time to time. Everything is in good order, and everything here looks so tall.

A few minutes later, we finally came to the left bank of the dam. It really finally appeared a few meters away from me. I suddenly seem so insignificant. The height from bottom to top 185 meters made me hold my breath instantly. White water flows thousands of miles from the bottom hole of the overflow dam section, just like a water gun in the hands of firefighters, full of energy and form. Spillways are neatly embedded in the dam, which at first glance looks like stripes on zebras. The retaining walls on both sides are like crabs' claws, holding fast to the surging water and preventing them from running around. In the distance, the water flows from white to miscellaneous, from surface out of control to undercurrent. At this time, the Yangtze River has turned into the sea, like a waking dragon, with a myriad of gestures, which is dizzying. Later, we learned that the spectacular scene was due to the continuous rainfall in recent days, and the upstream water interception reached 167 meters, which met the discharge conditions, giving us a chance to witness the process of dam discharge. Everyone can't help but take out their mobile phones to take pictures, but how can a small lens accommodate such a huge body? Then, we came to the world-class lock of the famous Three Gorges Dam. According to reports, the three Gorges double-line five-level ship lock is unprecedented in scale and is the largest ship lock in the world. The total length is 6.4 kilometers, in which the main part of the lock 1.6 kilometers and the approach channel are 4.8 kilometers. The water level difference of the ship lock is the largest in the world. The normal water level in front of the Three Gorges dam is175m above sea level, while the lowest navigable water level under the dam is 62m above sea level. That is to say, the drop of the lock is113m, and the ship has to climb over 40 floors to pass the lock. It has been selected as the world record of the largest ship lock in world record association, China. Before that, the ship lock with the largest water level difference in the world was only 68 meters. In order to build the ship lock, the builders leveled the hill of 18, and just cut a road on the hill on the left bank of the dam area. We also saw the biggest iron gate here, because the permanent ship lock has 24 herringbone doors, two thirds of which are 36.75 meters high, 20.2 meters wide and 3 meters thick, weighing 850 tons, and the area is close to two basketball courts. Its shape and weight are the highest in the world, and it is known as "the first door in the world". We gaped at it being opened and closed by the hydraulic device! At this time, some of these rectangular troughs are crowded with ships full of goods, such as children after school, waiting to open the door. The legendary "the big boat climbs the stairs and the small boat takes the elevator" is on! Simply put, if a ship comes from the downstream and needs to go up through the dam, first lower the water level of the fifth lock chamber to be consistent with the downstream water level, open the lower lock and the ship enters the lock chamber; When the lower sluice is closed, the water filling of the water conveyance system makes the water level in the sluice chamber rise, and the ship rises with the water level in the sluice chamber. When the water level is equal to that of the fourth lock chamber, the miter gate of the fifth lock head opens, and the ship seems to climb the first step and easily enter the upper lock chamber. So as to ascend until it comes out of the locking chamber,

Enter Gaoxia Pinghu. If the ship swims from upstream to downstream, the process is just the opposite. The design of the permanent ship lock is really scientific. There are two lanes, one upward and the other downward, which do not interfere with each other and save time. It takes about two and a half hours to pass the gate each time. This makes us sigh the wisdom of water conservancy builders, and the behemoths are handy in their hands. Now, the builders are building a new boat-passing machine, and they intend to achieve faster and more flexible navigation through motor-driven steering devices.

Finally, we climbed to the top of the Three Gorges Dam and stood on the top of the 2309-meter-long dam, conquering the first place in the world! The first thing I saw was a red crane on the top of the dam, which was specially used to hoist units like transformers. It turned out that Xiaohong, seen in the distance, added a touch of aura to the dam. The upper reaches are endless waters with a total area of 1084 square kilometers. The reservoir is more than 600 kilometers long and everything is calm. In the distance, I saw several submerged islands. This artificial lake swallowed 2 1 county and city involving Hubei and Chongqing, and flowed through 2 cities, 1 1 county and 17 1 village, including 150 national cultural relics. The relocated population1130,000 people, and the total area of flooded houses is 34,794,700 square meters. Normal water level elevation175m, with a total storage capacity of 39.3 billion cubic meters.

At our feet, 32 hydroelectric generating units with a single capacity of 700,000 kilowatts installed on the left and right banks of a Three Gorges Dam are desperately generating electricity, and they can still feel the steady vibration against the wave wall. The upstream is silent, and the downstream waves are still the same. It is between silence and noise that it constantly benefits mankind.

Although reluctant, I even hope to work in the Three Gorges in the future. But this time, we have fully appreciated the grandeur of the Three Gorges Dam, and seen the dam's contribution to ten benefits such as flood control, power generation, shipping, aquaculture, tourism, ecological protection, environmental purification, development and resettlement, South-to-North Water Diversion Project, water supply and irrigation, and some ecological and environmental problems currently faced. More importantly, I have seen the position and function of various hydraulic structures in books here, and I have seen the advanced scientific theoretical knowledge and first-class construction technology in the field of water conservancy construction in China.

China is rich in water resources. According to the results of the national review of hydropower resources in 2003, China's hydropower resources theory contains an annual power generation of 6.08 trillion kWh, with an average power generation of 694 million kilowatts. This technology can develop an annual power generation of 2.47 trillion kWh and an installed capacity of 542 million kilowatts. Economically exploitable annual power generation 1.75 trillion kwh, with an installed capacity of 402 million kilowatts.
