Lumbini, the birthplace of Sakyamuni, the founder of Buddhism, is located in the Terai Plain in southern Nepal, only 20 kilometers away from India. It is a place where Buddhists all over the world are eager to worship and a base for the revival of contemporary Buddhism.
In 565 BC, Madame Moyev, Queen of Kapilowei, passed through Lumbini Garden on her way back to her mother's house to give birth in a carriage. When Mrs. Moyev saw the exotic flowers and plants in the garden and the clear water in the pool, she got off the bus and took a bath in the garden. After bathing, he went ashore and held bodhi branches, giving birth to Prince Siddhartha of Gautama. At the age of 29, the prince felt that things were impermanent. He became a monk to find the true meaning of life. Six years later, he saw a star and became a Buddha. For Purdue sentient beings, it is said that it took 49 years to achieve nirvana. Buddhists built many monasteries, temples and pagodas to commemorate the garden where the Buddha was born. This garden is called the Holy Garden. For more than 2500 years, admirers have never stopped.
Lumbini Garden covers an area of 8 square kilometers, and there are still relics of towering old trees, dense reeds and building foundations. There used to be three pagodas, two temples and three cliff temples here. In recent years, a stone slab was excavated one meter below the Buddha statue in the main hall of Moya Temple. According to textual research, the place where the slate is located is the specific place where the Buddha was born. Although the Mo Ye Temple has been demolished, precious cultural relics such as the stone statue of Prince Mo Ye are kept in a nearby temple. The stone statue covers an area of less than 1 m2. On it, Mrs. Komoyev holds a branch, and the little prince moves seven steps in six directions, pointing to the sky and saying, "Only heaven and earth." The holy pool where Mrs. Moyev bathed is well preserved, and a vertical sign next to it reads: "Mrs. Moyev bathed here before becoming a Buddha." To the south of the holy land, there are two thousand-year-old bodhi trees. Many tourists are willing to meditate and take photos under the tree, imitating the legacy of Buddha's practice in those days.
Not far north of the temple ruins, there is also a famous monument, namely "Ashoka Pillar". Ashoka was a famous king who unified India in the 3rd century BC, and made outstanding contributions to promoting Buddhism. This pillar was erected when he came to worship the birthplace of Buddha. Further south, the bodhi tree has two symbols of Hinduism. To the west of the holy land is a reed field full of natural charm. There are temples built by Nepal, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar and other countries around the Holy Garden. The White Gelug Sect of Tibetan Buddhism also has a bigger temple here. The "Chinese Temple" aided by the Chinese Buddhist Association is also located here, and has cooperated with Nigerian religious circles.
Twenty-seven kilometers west of Lumbini is the palace of Sakyamuni's father, Sudoku King, and his queen, Madame Moyev. It is called Tiro Lacort. There are foundations for palaces, pagodas and temples. The most famous is the East Gate that Prince Siddhartha walked out of when he became a monk.
