From Bayi Town in Linzhi or bomi county, you can walk or rent a car to enter Medog. From Paixiang to Medog, there are 12 kilometers of mountain roads, and Medog Highway has been intermittent.

Medog is called "Bo Yu Bai Ma Gang" in Tibetan Buddhist classics, which means "Hidden Lotus".
