What kind of place is Medog? How is the scenery?

medog county is located in the lower reaches of Yarlung Zangbo River and the south of Yigang Rigabu mountain range in Himalayas, which means "the place where hidden lotus flowers bloom" in Tibetan. There are many types of virgin forests in Medog, which are rich in species. It's famous for being the last county that doesn't have access to roads, and it's highly praised by many backpackers because of its difficult and unusual roads, making it a very popular hiking route. This is the last place in China where there is no road, and the local people live a primitive life that is almost isolated from the outside world. From Bayi Town in Linzhi or bomi county, you can walk or rent a car to enter Medog. From Paixiang to Medog, there are 12 kilometers of mountain roads, and Medog Highway has been intermittent.

Medog is called "Bo Yu Bai Ma Gang" in Tibetan Buddhist classics, which means "Hidden Lotus". It is said that the whole terrain is very similar to a supine picture of the goddess Dojepamo, so it is also said that this place was conjured by King Kong Helm Dojepamo with his own body. According to legend, in the 9th century, Master Lotus Peanut was invited by Chisong Dêzain, a Tubo Zapp, to visit the sacred place of Xianshan. When he arrived here, he found that it was like a blooming lotus with the image of the sacred place, so he practiced macro dharma here and named it "Baimagang".

In the late autumn when the rainy season is over and winter hasn't arrived, the plants and fruits in the mountain forest are already rich, and animals of all sizes are basically "well-fed", while snakes and leeches, which have been hyped as "the first pest in the Grand Canyon", are much less than those in the rainy season.
