Autumn of Bad Children is an autobiographical play by Dr. Lu Changhe of the Central Academy of Drama, which truly and vividly describes the growth process of teenagers in special environments in some parts of mainland China.

Director Deng Ke had creative impulse and sense of responsibility when he first came into contact with the script, and the original intention of making the film was to give psychological comfort to teenagers. The film takes Bishan as the main shooting scene, including Bishan Confucian Temple, Qinglong Lake Scenic Area and Zhengzheng Middle School in Bishan County, etc. Among them, the story protagonist Xiaohai's childhood school life was mainly filmed at the lion teaching point of Zhengzheng Middle School, and the music competition venue of Xiaohai as the background, and Xiaohai's "home" chose a house in the family building of Zhengzheng Middle School. During the filming in Zhengzheng Middle School, the school selected some teachers and students to participate in the filming according to the requirements of the producers. Because there are many shots involved in the school for a long time, the school also gives strong support to the film crew in terms of security, venues and materials.
