Emerald: Tengchong, with its unique geographical and transportation advantages, has long been the earliest, largest and oldest jade distribution center in the history of China, winning the reputation of "city of jade".
Tengchong peasant painting: it was produced and formed in the mass painting activities in the 1970s. It comes down in one continuous line with China traditional folk crafts such as paper-cutting, dough figurine, clay figurine, shadow play, window grillage, board painting and New Year pictures. Its overall artistic level is not lower than the famous peasant paintings in Jinshan and Huxian in China. Tengchong peasant paintings are mainly created by Dai, Lisu, Wa and other ethnic minorities, with distinctive national characteristics. Many works participated in national exhibitions and won prizes, hundreds of works were exhibited in the province, more than ten works were exhibited and collected abroad, and many works were published in national and provincial journals.
