Scenic spots in Nanzhao Town
Nanzhao Scenic Area is located in Nanzhao Town, southwest of Yingshang, with Huaihe River in the south and Runhe River in the north. It runs through National Highway 105 and borders Huoqiu, Funan and Gushi counties. The ancient town of Nanzhao first started from the water platform. According to the "Yingzhou Chronicles" written by Zhengde of the Ming Dynasty, the water platform is 50 kilometers south of Yingzhou (today's Fuyang). According to legend, King Ping of Chu built the platform on the desert beach as a tourist attraction; Gao Zesheng in the Qing Dynasty "Yingzhou Chronicle" "Shangfengwuji" also says that the water platform is in the port town. The exact date of the establishment of the town of Nanzhao is recorded in the Dongyue Temple Stele in the Yingshangzhi in the 9th year of Tongzhi in the Qing Dynasty. Nanzhao is an ancient port town, close to the Huai River, and the Dongyue Temple was built in the Tang Dynasty in the Yangtze River. The town was founded long before Li Tang. The main beam of the main hall of Dongyue Temple also has the words "Monitored by Yuchi Jingde of the Tang Dynasty". According to Beichong's "Yuanli Jiuyu Zhi", Yingshang has jurisdiction over two townships, Zhengyang, Caokou and Jiangbo towns. According to legend, grain from Bianliang, Ningdu, was transported from the south to the north, crossing the Qinghe River and entering Ying to reach Bian. Because it was close to the mouth of the Qinghe River, it was named Caokou Town. Nanzhao Town is also related to Zhu Yuanzhang, the emperor of the Ming Dynasty. In the fourth year of Zhizheng in the Yuan Dynasty (1344), there was a drought and locust famine. When Taizu was 17 years old, his parents and brothers died one after another and he was left alone. He became a monk in Huangjue Temple and traveled around. Beizhao Temple, Nanzhao Temple and other places. Because he lived in Nanzhaoji, he ordered a temple to be built here after he ascended the throne, and it was named "Suyuan Temple". Caokou Town was also renamed "Nanzhao Town" because of the temple. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, merchants gathered and trade flourished, so old records said: "It strangles the throat of Henan and Anhui. Its scale is a symbol of the city, and its commercial prosperity is unparalleled in the city. The market along the Huaihe River should be unparalleled."
Historic sites include the Chu Ping King's Water Viewing Platform, Tongtaizi, Ancient Banqiao, Ming Dynasty Twin Towers, Jiangxi Pond, Nanzhao Temple, Dongyue Temple, Wenchang Palace, and Mosque. Cultural relics include Orchid Pavilion stone carvings, large and small iron bells, Shigui et al. Nanzhao Zhongling is very beautiful, with numerous talents and prosperous writing style. Dai Houying, a famous contemporary female writer, was born in Nanzhao and was buried in the West Garden of Nanzhao.
