Is there a mother cellar in Ningxia?
Ningxia: "Mother's cellar changed the people in my mountain"
Our reporter Ma Fuchun China Youth Daily (20 13 0 16 04 edition)
In the south of Ningxia, there is a county called Pengyang. Many illiterate rural old people in the local area can't write their own names, but they know three words-"PetroChina". This is because, in the local area, the words "PetroChina" are engraved on the newly-built "Mother's Water Pit" in the villagers' homes, and the simple villagers understand this truth-don't forget to dig wells when drinking water. In their minds, the benefactor's name is "PetroChina".
A brief memory of suffering.
20 12 in Pengyang mountain area in late autumn, the golden layered forest is completely dyed. In Xiaoshigou Village, Mengyuan Township, Pengyang County, most of the crops on the mountain have been harvested, hard-working people have started grinding, and grain has been put into storage.
I just finished my farm work two days ago, and it rained a lot in the mountains on 20 12. The corn and wheat planted at home have a bumper harvest, and the harvested grain is full of holes. In front of the ancient cave, there was not a weed in the flat cement yard. Chen Xiuying, a 79-year-old man, sat quietly in the middle of the yard, quietly bathed in the midday sun and watched his daughter-in-law Wang Xiuping do housework.
Wang Xiuping, 48, has lived in this yard for more than 20 years. She planted 30 acres of land, raised four children and took care of a large family.
In the morning, diligent Wang Xiuping thoroughly cleaned the house, took the ladder to the roof, and carefully removed the debris between the tiles with the broom of the new company. During the autumn harvest, there are many people playing around, and many sundries fall on the roof. Wang Xiuping knows that if the roof is not thoroughly cleaned, the water stored in the cellar will not be clean when it rains.
"Thanks to this cellar, how could I wash clothes like this before?" Wang Xiuping slid water from the cellar in the middle of the yard. She said that in the past, drinking water was very difficult. We had to climb the mountain and fetch water from the ravine. We can only wash clothes once a month, sometimes even for months. Everyone's clothes are dirty.
In Pengyang mountain area, which has been dry for many years, the annual rainfall is only 350 ~ 550 mm, but the evaporation is several times or even dozens of times. Due to running water cutting and long-term blind reclamation, soil erosion in this area is serious and the living conditions of local people are extremely poor. In this land, which is determined by the United Nations Food Development Agency as unsuitable for human survival, the harvest of the land can only rely on God's care, and no rain means that the life of this year has not settled. Some villagers who live in mountain gardens with scarce water resources have only bathed twice in their lives, once for life and once for death.
"When the rooster crows in the middle of the night, it has to get up. It's really bitter. " When it comes to carrying water up the mountain, Chen Xiuying, who has lived in the mountains all his life, is filled with emotion.
When I was a child, Chen Xiuying carried two wooden barrels over mountains and mountains, and carried water at the bottom of the ditch. The water in the ditch is the accumulation of rain. If it doesn't rain for a long time, there will be less water. In order to transport water, when the weather is dry, everyone is scrambling. Chen Xiuying often leaves before dawn. From Xiaoshigou village to Yangshan ditch bottom, Chen Xiuying carried water every time, and it was nearly noon when he came back.
In the rural area of Pengyang County, Rainbow, it is common for the Ping Xiu family to cross mountains and fetch water from a distance in order to get water.
Zhang Dengchuan, a 75-year-old farmer in Caomiao Village, Caomiao Township, Pengyang County, still remembers that when he was a child, carrying water, "the burden was so heavy that his shoulders bubbled."
Zhang Dengchuan said that since he can remember, the villagers have to go to the ditch far away, and every time they are mighty, carrying water has become a must for the villagers every morning. Later, the villagers raised funds to drill a well, and the mountains were short of water. This well is 13 feet deep and needs a long rope to wring the water dry. Every morning and evening, the old and young in the village will appear at the well to fight for water, and some people will drive their livestock to the well to get water to drink.
Xue Tao Village, Luowa Township, Pengyang County is also a small mountain village without water. There is no water around Xue Tao village. For many years, villagers have to fetch water in Lizhai Village, which is 10 km away.
"One cubic meter of water is five or six yuan, rent a value-added tax per day 10 yuan, and the round-trip fare is more than 50 yuan." In recent years, villager Zhou Fengming has an account in his heart. Every month, the whole family needs to spend two or three hundred yuan on water, which is also relatively economical. In recent years, the oil price has been rising, and Zhou Fengming is deeply touched, and his family's draft cost is also increasing.
"It is not only time-consuming for farmers to drink water, but also expensive." Zhou Fengming said: Without water, livestock can't be raised. Farming in the mountains requires animal power, and raising livestock requires more water. In this way, the farmer's water fee has become an important expense at home.
When drinking water
"Now the donkey doesn't go down the ditch." Looking at his daughter-in-law Wang Xiuping, she fetched water barrel by barrel from the cellar around her. Chen Xiuying, who carried water in the mountains for half her life, was very impressed.
A few years ago, China Petroleum donated money to the village to build a batch of mother's water cellars, and the Chen Xiuying family got financial support. China Petroleum invested 1 1,000 yuan to buy the masonry and cement for building the cellar and do it yourself. Under the guidance of Pengyang Women's Federation and water conservancy department staff, a 50 cubic meter water cellar was built. In order to solve the water problem, the local government also subsidized every hardened yard to have a water cellar.
In order to collect rainwater, the family who built the mother's cellar directly connected the waterway in the yard to the cellar, and at the same time erected a pipeline on the roof to introduce rainwater from the roof into the cellar through the pipeline. In this way, whenever it rains, all the water that can accumulate in the house completely enters the mother's cellar.
Since the family has a water cellar, Wang Xiuping no longer has to go over mountains to fetch water. All this, Chen Xiuying see in the eye, hot in my heart. "The production party is waiting for us, otherwise we can still sit in the yard and drink water." Chen Xiuying said sincerely.
"Go in for a drink, go in for a drink." When the reporter came to Zhang Dengchuan's home, the old man was playing with his daughter-in-law and chatting about draught. Lao Zhang Dengchuan was very excited.
Zhang Dengchuan told reporters that in order to draft, the villagers tried their best, but failed to completely solve the problem. It was not until the mother cellar donated by China Petroleum was built to store the water in front of and behind the house that the draft was guaranteed.
Han Shulan, chairman of Pengyang Women's Federation, said that since 2007, China Petroleum has donated 2,000 mother water cellars to Pengyang rural areas in two batches, amounting to 6,543,800 yuan, benefiting thousands of households.
Relevant research shows that building rainwater collection pits in areas with severe water shortage is the simplest, most economical and most practical method to effectively use rainwater resources to solve the water shortage problem. A cellar with a volume of 36 cubic meters, a set of hardened rainwater collection fields and simple anti-corrosion treatment can solve the problem of safe drinking water for people and animals in a family of 3-5 people for one year. If they have two cellars, they can develop an acre of cash crops, thus solving the problems of survival and development.
Mother water kiln gathers the love of the earth.
Since 2007, under the leadership of the All-China Women's Federation, the China Women's Development Foundation has launched a social fund-raising campaign to solicit donations from all parties, set up the "Love of Mother Earth's Water Cellar" fund, and called on the whole society to donate concrete water cellars to water-deficient areas.
China Petroleum and Natural Gas Group Company, which is enthusiastic about public welfare, understands the suffering of villagers in water-deficient areas in central and southern Ningxia. With the aim of "dedicating energy and creating harmony together", China Petroleum Company, which is fully committed to social responsibility, immediately took action and launched a large-scale fund-raising activity of "Love Mother's Water Pit and Help New Rural Construction" within the whole group.
"If you donate 1 0,000 yuan, you can build a rainwater collection cellar to solve a family's drinking water problem and support a family's survival and hope!" From the headquarters of China Petroleum Group to China petroleum enterprises all over the world, a huge fund-raising activity has mushroomed. With great enthusiasm, the oil man extended a pair of selfless and warm helping hands to the compatriots who suffered from drought.
Most employees of Ningxia Petrochemical Company, Ningxia Sales Company and Changqing Oilfield under China Petroleum are from Ningxia and Northwest China. They are well aware of the water shortage in their hometown. In this love relay, employees enthusiastically donated money to express their support for their hometown and care for the villagers.
Since 2007, the first batch of 2,000 "Mother Water Cellars" donated by China Petroleum have settled in Pengyang County, Guyuan City, Ningxia. With the deep affection of oil people, the first batch of 800 and the second batch of 1200 "mother water cellars" were built one after another. Mountain farmers who have suffered from drought for generations and can't drink clean water never thought that there would be such a day.
"I have never eaten such good water in my life, and we all remember the warmth of the party." 75-year-old Zhang Dengchuan said from the heart.
In the rural area of Pengyangshan, the "Mother's Water Cellar" funded by China Petroleum Group has a capacity of 50 cubic meters per mouth, which is convenient for collecting rain and has clear water quality. It is affectionately called "pure water" by the people. The "mother's puddle" has a large space and a lot of water, so people in the mountains can no longer worry about drinking water, and can also be used to water vegetable fields and raise livestock.
"It used to be difficult to drink water, let alone grow vegetables." In Wang Xiuping's yard, there is a place where all kinds of vegetables can be grown. When it is necessary to water, she takes water from the cellar to water it. Nowadays, the Wang Xiuping family can eat fresh vegetables at every meal.
Xiuying, an old Chen Man, said, "With the help of China Petroleum, my mother's water cellar has changed the people in my mountainous area.
