When is the best month to travel to Enshi?
The best tourist season in Enshi is April and May.
Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture has a monsoon mountain climate, with no scorching heat in summer, little severe cold in winter, lots of fog, and abundant rainfall.
Due to the complex terrain and huge differences in altitude, the average altitude of Enshi Prefecture is about 1,000 meters, with the highest being more than 3,000 meters and the lowest being more than 60 meters. It is known among the people as "low mountains are called valleys and high mountains are surrounded by stoves". There is a proverb that “the sky is different even within ten miles, and the customs are different within a hundred miles”. The temperature decreases with increasing altitude, with the lowest temperature in the year being in January and the highest being in July.
Special reminder: Because Enshi Prefecture has a lot of rain, fog, and rain and heat at the same time, travel here is often affected by bad weather for several consecutive days. Therefore, it is best to avoid the rainy season when traveling to Enshi. Find out more about local weather conditions beforehand.
