What is the capital of Burundi?

The Republic of Burundi is located south of the equator in east-central Africa. It borders Rwanda to the north, Tanzania to the east and south, Congo (DRC) to the west, and Lake Tanganyika to the southwest. There are many plateaus and mountains in the territory, most of which are composed of plateaus on the east side of the East African Rift Valley. The national average altitude is 1,600 meters, and it is known as the "mountain country".

Capital, Bujumbura

The capital, Bujumbura, has a population of 393,000 (2012) and is the political, economic and cultural center of Burundi. Bujumbura’s old name was Usombra. In the western part of the country, on the northern shore of the eastern end of Lake Tanganyika. The average annual temperature is around 22 to 26 degrees Celsius. The city is backed by a mountain and faces a lake, with a pleasant climate and beautiful scenery. The city has lush trees and flowers, and tourist facilities are constantly expanding. It is a developing tourist city.
