Xiangnan House, originally a social organization specializing in the management of pontoon bridges, was named "Pontoon House", which was founded in the summer of the 28th year of Qingxu (A.D. 1902). The house faces the Xiangjiang River from east to west. Looking along the south of the Yangtze River, you can see the beautiful Yan Hui Peak and Yueping Mountain. Looking north along the river, you can also see the dignified stone drums and the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. The winding stone road in front of the door leads directly to Xue Nan Jinliang, leading to Hunan No.3 Middle School and No.3 Normal School. "The pontoon bridge" is inscribed with white marble, written in regular script, written by former Qing Xiucai and alternate Dao Zeng. On the right side of the door is a sign in black on a white background, which reads "Southern Hunan Student Union". The former site was originally a square printed blue brick wall covered with small blue tiles, with a patio and more than ten houses, covering an area of 583.64 square meters, surrounded by low-rise houses on the east, south and north sides.

There are two rooms and five rooms in the former site, one room and one room, and the right room is the office of Xiangnan University. Successive directors have worked and lived here, and so did the famous martyr Xia student. In view of the historical and practical significance of southern Hunan, in order to commemorate it forever, 1967, the government began to allocate funds for comprehensive housing renovation, restore the old site, and open additional exhibition halls. The name of the museum is Guo Moruo's calligraphy "Exhibition Hall of the Former Site of Xiangnan Students' Federation, the Memorial Site of Comrade Mao Zedong's Revolution". 1972 was designated as "key cultural relics protection unit in Hunan province". 1983 changed to Xiangnan-Memorial Hall. Since its establishment, * * * has held more than 100 exhibitions and received more than 50,000 visitors every year, making it an important place for revolutionary education. In September, 2003, the memorial park, covering an area of more than 80 mu and with an investment of10 million yuan, started construction. Zhuhui District is responsible for the demolition of 40,000 square meters of buildings, and the Municipal Construction Bureau is responsible for the construction. It was completed in July 2004. The park is planned as a memorial park and a sightseeing park, in which the memorial park focuses on the renovated Xiangnan-Memorial Hall, highlighting the theme of revolutionary traditional education. The artificial river in the park meanders, the small bridges on the river are exquisite and unique, the green flower beds and gazebo set each other off, and all the scenic spots in the park maintain an antique style, which is integrated with the memorial hall and is natural. The whole park has both traditional charm and modern flavor; You can not only visit and study, but also have fun. Southern Hunan has become a patriotic education base and a tourist attraction.
