Zouping County is located in the overlapping area of ??the Taiyi Mountains in central Shandong and the Yellow River Plain in northern Shandong. It borders the industrial powerhouse Zibo to the east and Shandong to the west. Jinan, the provincial capital, is adjacent to the Jiaoji Railway to the south, the Yellow River to the north, and the Jiqing Expressway traverses the entire territory for 26 kilometers. It is 90 kilometers away from Jinan in the west, 62 kilometers away from Jinan International Airport, 240 kilometers away from the coastal city Qingdao in the east, 37 kilometers away from Zibo City, and 550 kilometers away from the capital Beijing in the north. Zouping County was established in the Han Dynasty. In ancient times, it was the land of Zou State, and in Zhou Dynasty, it was the land of the Emperor. Liangzo County was established in the early Han Dynasty. Because Liang and Zouping were under control, Zouping was reestablished.

On September 15, 1994, Haosheng Township, Mingjiaji Township, Handian Township, and Linchi Township were abolished, and Haosheng Town, Mingji Town, Handian Town, and Linchi Town were established, and their administrative regions and people's governments The location remains unchanged. On September 19, 1994, Qingyang Township and Sunzhen Township were abolished and Qingyang Town and Sunzhen Town were established. Their administrative areas and the location of the people's government remained unchanged.

On January 4, 1995, Yuancheng Township and Jiaoqiao Township were abolished and Yuancheng Town and Jiaoqiao Town were established. There are more than 80 ancient cultural sites in Zouping County, and thousands of cultural relics have been unearthed. The Dinggong site excavated in recent years is an ancient city site belonging to the Longshan Culture. It was ranked among the top ten new archaeological discoveries in the country in 1991. Research on the unearthed ancient cultural relics has pushed China's written history forward by 800 years. Zouping County is home to a diverse collection of people and celebrities. Fan Zhongyan, an outstanding politician, military strategist and writer in the Northern Song Dynasty, spent his youth in Zouping and later became a famous prime minister. The famous saying "Be worried about the world's worries first, and be happy after the world's happiness" has been praised from generation to generation. The famous scholar Mr. Liang Shuming founded the Shandong Rural Construction Research Institute in Zouping in the 1930s and conducted seven years of experimental rural construction activities. The famous modern writer and educator Li Guangtian, the famous printmaker Liu Jian'an, the linguist Guo Zaiyi (a professor at Zhejiang University during his lifetime), and the "Zhouyi" research expert Liu Dajun are all influential people from Zouping in the intellectual community.
