What is the longest time for Hong Kong people to stay in mainland China?

Hong Kong people need a Home Visit Permit to go to the Mainland. As long as the return card has not expired, you can legally stay in the mainland.

The card is valid for adults 10 years and minors for 5 years.

The Home Visit Permit for Hong Kong and Macao residents to and from the Mainland, commonly known as Home Visit Permit or Home Visit Permit, is issued by People's Republic of China (PRC) and the Exit-Entry Administration Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security of China for residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Macao Special Administrative Region with China nationality to and from the mainland of China.

Application method

Hong Kong residents can go to China Travel Agency in Hong Kong in person. Applicants are required to submit an application form, a recent photo with a pure white background and a copy of Hong Kong identity documents. Persons who hold valid Hong Kong and Macao residents' passes (home visit permits) to and from the Mainland and need to apply for new cards can also choose to buy special delivery envelopes at the stores of China Travel Agency in Hong Kong and put the application documents in the delivery boxes of the accreditation stores. Macao residents should go to Macau China Travel Agency located in Nanguang Building, Luo Avenue.

Application conditions

Hong Kong and Macao residents with China nationality, regardless of whether they hold foreign passports and travel documents, can apply for a pass as long as they have not declared themselves as foreigners to the nationality management authorities. The following persons can apply for a pass:

1, born in Hong Kong and Macao, a permanent resident of Hong Kong and Macao with China descent;
