Gao Yi Village, Wuxing District

Gao Yi Village, Zhili Town, Wuxing District, is adjacent to Taihu Lake, which is a typical spatial pattern of traditional villages in South Taihu Lake-Port Area and Tangpu polder. The century-old streets and ancient bridges in the village are well preserved, and the street stones are arranged in an orderly manner, which fully shows the cultural landscapes such as rice culture, fish culture and silk culture bred by Tangpu polder.

A small river runs through the whole village of Gao Yi from the north and south of Taihu Lake, forming a water market street about 60 meters long along both sides of the river. The existing six river ports are well preserved, and walking on them seems to be able to travel through time and space and talk quietly with the ancients.

Jia Fan Hall is the most magnificent ancient building in the village. Jiafan Hall faces south, with three entrances, consisting of a brick door, a patio, a hall and two rooms. The front of the brick carving instrument door is engraved with "respecting benevolence" and the back is engraved with "meticulously repairing and inheriting". Every brick and tile is a trace of time. Visitors to this village must go and see it.

There are very few villagers in the village now, but some unique links have remained. When tourists enter the village, they can exchange RMB for copper coins at the entrance of the village as needed, because all transactions of tourists entering the village must be conducted in copper coins.
