The "Tourism Zone on the West Side of the Taiwan Strait" covers 23 cities in Fujian, Guangdong, Zhejiang and Jiangxi provinces.

These cities include Fuzhou, Xiamen, Quanzhou, Zhangzhou, Longyan, Putian, Nanping, Sanming and Ningde in Fujian Province.

Shantou, Shanwei, Chaozhou, Jieyang and Meizhou in Guangdong Province;

Wenzhou, Taizhou, Jinhua, Lishui and Quzhou in Zhejiang;

Ganzhou, yingtan, Shangrao and Fuzhou in Jiangxi Province.

According to the plan, in the next 10 year, the tourist area on the west side of the Straits will join hands with the east side of the Straits to build a world-class tourist destination, forming a pattern of "three axes" and "eight regions".

The eight districts refer to the coastal business tourist areas in southern Fujian, the business and leisure tourist areas in central Fujian, the ecological and cultural tourist areas in northern Fujian, the Chaoshan cultural tourist areas in eastern Guangdong, the water ecological tourist areas in southwestern Zhejiang, the humanistic ecological tourist areas in eastern Jiangxi, the Hakka red cultural tourist areas in Fujian, Guangdong and Jiangxi, and the ecological holiday tourist areas in Fujian and Zhejiang.
