The Qingshan Forest Seed Garden of Weihe Forestry Bureau is a state-approved seed breeding center of forest industry enterprises in Heilongjiang Province. The breeding base covers an area of 5000 mu and consists of 7 tree species, including Korean pine, yew and Mongolian pine. Quercus mongolica, Larix gmelinii, Sha Song, Fraxinus mandshurica and Tilia amurensis. It produces 4,000 kilograms of excellent forest seeds and about 400,000 seedlings every year. Among them, Taxus cuspidata is a rare tree species in China and the only seed forest that only blooms and bears fruit in our scenic spot. The earliest fruiting age of the new Korean pine nut variety is 3 years after planting, and it has been listed as a national forestry science and technology promotion project by the State Forestry Administration. Forest Seed Garden won the National Outstanding Contribution Award for Ecological Construction-the honorary title of advanced unit of forest seedlings; Awarded by the State Forestry Administration as an advanced unit of the national forest seed base; Taxus scenic spot was rated as a national 3A scenic spot by the National Tourism Administration. "Study on Asexual Propagation and Afforestation Technology of Taxus cuspidata" won the second prize of Heilongjiang Science and Technology Progress Award; The research on selection of Korean pine breeding resources and seed setting promotion, which was completed in cooperation with Dailing Forestry Research Institute, won the Science and Technology Progress Award of the Ministry of Forestry.
