Why did SF Airport change its name to Ezhou Airport?
SF Airport was renamed Ezhou Huahu Airport. It is an airport 46% controlled by SF Express. The airport is located closer to Ezhou, hence its name.
It can be said that it is a self-built airport. The self-built airport is for more ambitious goals in the future, and it will bring many practical benefits to Hubei Province.
The initiator of the airport project is of course SF Express. However, after selecting the site in Ezhou, because there is no precedent for a private company to solely own an airport in China, this project eventually became an official holding. A public-private partnership project in which SF Express holds a stake. Naturally, the naming rights no longer belong to SF Express, and it will not be named "SF Airport".
Under normal circumstances, after an airport is built, it can be named after the small place where it is located. The smallest can be as small as a village or town, and the largest can only be as large as a district, such as Shenzhen’s Bao’an Airport. There has never been any precedent of directly naming a prefecture-level city. The name "Ezhou Airport" can only be regarded as a transitional title and will eventually have to be renamed.
What is the most reasonable name for the airport? Although the core of the airport is located in Yanji Town, calling it "Yanji Airport" is a bit confusing in terms of pronunciation, because the word "jiji" has the same pronunciation, and there is no precedent among the airports that have been built. , therefore not the best choice.
Huahu is next to Ezhou Airport. From the map, Huama Lake already intersects with the airport area, so it is logical to name it "Huahu Airport". This will help drive Huahu in the future. Tourism in the area will also benefit greatly.
