The numbering principle of flight number of each flight (referring to aircraft)

At present, the flight number of domestic flights in China consists of the two-character code of the airline plus four Arabic numerals, and the airline code is promulgated by the Civil Aviation Administration of China.

The last four digits represent the area where the airline base is located, the second represents the area where the terminal building of the flight base is located, in which the number 1 represents North China, 2 represents Northwest China, 3 represents South China, 4 represents Southwest China, 5 represents East China, 6 represents Northeast China, 8 represents Xiamen, 9 represents Xinjiang, and the third and fourth digits represent flight numbers, that is, the specific flight numbers.

If the fourth digit is odd, it means the flight from the base; If it is even, it means the return flight from the terminal to the base.

Take CA 1206 as an example. CA is the code of China International Airlines. The first digit 1 indicates North China, and Air China's base is in Beijing. The second digit 2 represents the northwest, and Xi 'an belongs to the northwest region; The last two digits 06 are the flight serial number, and the last digit 6 is an even number, indicating that the flight is a return flight. CA 1206 is the return flight of Air China from Beijing to Xi 'an.
