The current dilemma of folk culture tourism

The current status of folk culture tourism in my country.

The general status quo of changes in folk culture is: the surface changes rapidly, and although the deep concepts change slowly, many traditional concepts are also facing the fate of being broken. Traditional folk culture changes or disappears, which is a normal trend in the development of folk customs. Moreover, in the process of changes in some folk custom cultures, we do feel the charm of modernization. But regardless of the material level or the conceptual level, changes in folk culture still have some negative effects.

1. The loss of traditional cultural value.

2. Shortcomings in the development of folk culture tourism.

Although our country has achieved good results in the development of folk tourism, we use "people-created folk culture villages, on-site folk culture villages, folk museums, festival activities, ethnic ecological museums, folk special tourism", etc. The folk tourism development model enables the healthy and steady development of folk tourism. However, there are also many unoptimistic problems in the development process, which are specifically reflected in four aspects:

First, the protection is not strong enough and the protection methods are imperfect. Insufficient legislation for the protection of folk culture has left folk culture with "nothing to rely on" and failure to train successors of folk culture, leaving folk culture in the embarrassing situation of "having no successors". Most of the protection measures are "laggy". That is, protective measures are taken only after folk culture has been damaged.

The second is to regard folk culture as a "cash cow". Adopting the development model of "culture sets the stage and economy performs" has made the relationship between folk culture and economic construction more and more closely, and there is a trend of commercialization of folk culture. To a certain extent, this development model does more harm than good. As Feng Jicai said, "If we continue to use culture as a platform and economy as the stage, the harm caused may not be seen until 10 years later."

Third, the development of folk culture is seriously counterfeited, destroyed, and assimilated. In order to attract a large number of tourists and create more economic value, some places continue to imitate classic folk culture to create culture, some places blindly pursue economic benefits and ignore social and ecological benefits, and some places even perform some vulgar culture.

Fourthly, the legacy of vulgar culture has not been exhausted, the dross is regarded as the essence, and there are even feudal superstitious activities, which damages the image of regional folk culture and affects the construction of socialist spiritual civilization.
