In urgent need of a guide to Lijiang, Yunnan, about 1,000 words

Hello everyone!

First of all, on behalf of my travel agency, I would like to sincerely welcome you all to come to Lijiang for sightseeing. My surname is He, which means He is kind, so everyone can just call me Xiao He; the driver’s surname is Mu, which means wood from trees. In Yunnan, most people with the surname He or Mu are from the Naxi ethnic group in Lijiang. Today, I am very happy to be your tour guide. I will do my best to introduce the most beautiful scenery of Lijiang to you.

As the host, now I want to welcome everyone in the unique way of the Naxi people in Lijiang. Our method is very simple, that is, I will sing the Naxi welcome song for everyone.

"Friends from afar, we are here at the Naxi family. Let's sit for a while. The mountains are happy, the water is smiling, the Naxi people are so happy. I wish everyone a good mood..."

Master Mu and I sincerely wish everyone a comfortable and enjoyable time in Lijiang. Our tour group's stay in Lijiang was four days and three nights. We stayed in ** Hotel for the first and third nights, and stayed at Lugu Lake Mosuo Villa on the second night. During this period, I will take you to visit several major scenic spots such as the Old Town of Lijiang, Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, the First Bend of the Yangtze River, Tiger Leaping Gorge, and Lugu Lake. In Lijiang, if you have anything to do, if you need help from Master Mu and me, please feel free to ask, and we will try our best to handle it.

The Lijiang Airport where we landed is located in Qihe Township, Lijiang County, on the border with Heqing County, Dali Prefecture. It is 2,200 meters above sea level. It was completed and opened to navigation in 1995. Lijiang Airport can take off and land Boeing 737 large passenger aircraft. It has opened many routes from Lijiang to Kunming, Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Chengdu, Hong Kong, Xishuangbanna, etc., with an annual passenger flow of more than 500,000. Lijiang Airport has now become the second largest airport in Yunnan Province after Kunming.

It is 26 kilometers from the airport to Lijiang City, and the ride takes about 30 minutes. I will use this time to introduce to you the scenery along the way and an overview of Lijiang.

Now our car is driving on the Dali-Lijiang Highway. The gentle slope in front of us is called Guanpo. In ancient times, it was an important pass in and out of the ancient city of Lijiang. Now it is also the southern gate of Lijiang. . It is 550 kilometers away from Kunming. It takes 3 hours to take an air-conditioned bus to go south to Dali, and 6-8 hours to Kunming. In the morning, I ate Lijiang cakes on Sifang Street, and in the afternoon I went to Kunming to eat Guoqiao rice noodles!

First of all, it needs to be explained that Lijiang is the name of both a county and a region. Lijiang region currently governs 4 counties, among which Huaping County is a coal base, Yongsheng County is a land of plenty, Ninglang Yi Autonomous County and Lijiang Naxi Autonomous County are key tourism development zones. The region covers an area of ??20,600 square kilometers and has a total population of 1.12 million. In addition to the Han nationality, there are 10 ethnic minority groups including the Naxi, Yi, Lisu, Bai, and Pumi, with a population of 640,000, accounting for approximately 10% of the total population in the region. 57% of the population. The languages, customs, dwellings, costumes, festivals, songs and dances of Lijiang's ethnic minorities are rich and unique.

Now, after our car passed Guanpoyakou, the terrain suddenly became flat, and a wide mountain basin appeared in front of us. This is the main settlement area of ??the Naxi people, a unique ethnic group in Yunnan. . We call it Lijiang Bazi. It is the largest plateau basin in northwest Yunnan, covering an area of ??nearly 200 square kilometers and an altitude of about 2,400 meters. Dayan Town, the county seat of Lijiang, is located in the center of Bazi. The ancient town of Lijiang that people usually call is the center of Dayan Town. It was included in the World Cultural Heritage List by the United Nations on December 4, 1997 and became a world-famous cultural city.

At this point, you may ask: Why is this place called "Lijiang"?

The name "Lijiang" began with the establishment of the administrative district Lijiang Road in the 13th year of the Yuan Dynasty (1276). "History of the Yuan Dynasty·Geography" says: "Lu is named after the river." That is to say, the origin of the place name "Lijiang" originated from the nickname "Lishui" of the Jinsha River. As we all know, the Jinsha River is the upper reaches of the Yangtze River and is named after the gold sand it produces. But why is the Jinsha River also called "Lishui" and "Lijiang"? The main theory in history books is that the Jinsha River originates from the plowing stone on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, and is called plowing water, which means the plow for plowing fields and the water for mountains and rivers. Sun Yanweng, the author of the long couplet of the Grand View Tower in Kunming, wrote in the poem "Jinsha River": "The ax that splits the Fan territory leaves no trace, and the plow oxen flows out and rushes towards Li". The Tibetan territory is now the residential area of ??Tibetan ancestors. Later, because the sounds of "plough" and "li" were similar, they were written as "Lishui" and "Lijiang".

Looking from the map, Lijiang is surrounded by the Jinsha River on its west, north and east sides, just like the Latin letter W, forming three major turning points. From this point of view, it is very appropriate for Kublai Khan, the founder of the Yuan Dynasty, to name "Lijiang" after this prominent natural entity. Lijiang is the beautiful Jinsha River. It is also called "Yigudui" in the local Naxi language, which means the place where the river turns. Speaking of this, the general environment of Lijiang Ancient City - Jade Wall Jinchuan. Jade Wall refers to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, which is located at the northern end of this dam. It is like a silver screen wall of the ancient city, making the ancient city dazzling. Jinchuan refers to the Jinsha River, which surrounds Lijiang on three sides for 615 kilometers and is called the most beautiful river section in the world.

Although Lijiang County is located in the northwest plateau of Yunnan, where you can see snow-capped mountains all year round, there is no severe cold, no scorching heat, no heating, no air conditioning. The average annual temperature here is 12.6 degrees Celsius. The average temperature in the coldest month of January is about 6 degrees Celsius. The average temperature in the hottest month is about 18 degrees Celsius. The annual temperature difference is only about 12 degrees Celsius.

At the same time, the number of absolute low temperatures and absolute high temperatures in Lijiang is relatively small, and the duration does not last too long, so the boundaries between the four seasons are not very clear. The reason is mainly due to its low-latitude geographical location. Lijiang is located at about 27 degrees north latitude. The sunlight angle changes little in winter and summer, and the ground temperature is relatively uniform. In summer and autumn every year, affected by the warm and humid airflow of the ocean monsoon, there are many rainy days and the ground temperature is relatively uniform. The temperature is not easy to rise; and the crisscrossing mountains act as a natural barrier to the cold current in the north, so this morning forms a unique climate of dry, warm and mild weather.

At the same time, Lijiang has few industries and is rarely polluted. The air is fresh and clean, green mountains and clear waters are everywhere, and crops grow all year round. Especially in winter and spring, the sky is exceptionally blue and the sunshine is bright and bright, which is pleasing to the eye. Of course, it is precisely because the four seasons in Lijiang are not very obvious, with three-dimensional changes, and it becomes winter when it rains, and the temperature difference between day and night is relatively large, so foreign guests should pay appropriate attention to adding or removing clothes after arriving in Lijiang to avoid catching a cold.

Dear friends, although Lijiang is located in a remote area, it has a long history and splendid culture. Fifty thousand years ago, Lijiang Homo, Homo sapiens from the Late Paleolithic Age, lived here. The discovery of Neolithic and bronze artifacts further proves that Lijiang is one of the cradle of ancient humans in Yunnan. The Lijiang area was developed earlier. In 109 BC, the Western Han Dynasty established the jurisdiction of Suijiu County. In the early Yuan Dynasty, Lijiang Road, one of the 37 roads in Yunnan, was established, and the name "Lijiang" began. From the Yuan Dynasty to the early Qing Dynasty for 470 years, Lijiang was the center of the region ruled by the Mu clan chieftain of the Naxi ethnic group.

Today’s Lijiang County is the only Naxi autonomous county in China and the largest county in the Lijiang region, with an area of ??7,648 square kilometers and a population of approximately 360,000, of which 55% are Naxi. The Naxi ethnic group originated from the Di and Qiang ethnic group who migrated south in ancient China. They live at the junction of Yunnan, Sichuan and Tibet, centered on Lijiang. The total population is about 300,000, and there are 200,000 in Lijiang County, accounting for 67% of the total Naxi population in the country. The Naxi people have a small population and are not widely distributed. However, they are famous for their ancient and rich national culture. Some people say that it is a small ethnic group that creates a big culture.

The most famous cultural feature of the Naxi people is the "three living fossils". The so-called "three living fossils" are the living fossil of writing - Naxi pictographs, the living fossil of music - Naxi ancient music, and the living fossil of human society - the Mosuo matrilineal family. The Naxi Dongba script created in the Tang Dynasty is known as the only living hieroglyphics in the world; the two sets of large-scale classical music "White Sand Fine Music" that are still popular in Lijiang are regarded as "national treasures" by the Chinese and foreign music circles; the banks of Lugu Lake The Mosuo people still maintain the matrilineal family and the Axia walking marriage system, which is rare in the world.

While we were talking, we were already on the ring road in the southern suburbs of Lijiang Old Town. Please take a look, there is a green hill in the front right, which looks like a lion rolling a hydrangea, hence the name Lion Rock. The beautiful Lion Rock naturally separates Lijiang Old Town and New Town, but connects them into an organic whole. The tall building on the top of the mountain is called "Eternal Building". Climb the tower to see the snow-capped mountains in the north, and see the ancient city in the south with a panoramic view.

On the left side of the road, this tall building is called Blackwater Hotel. The main building is 17 floors high and has 128 guest rooms. It is a four-star hotel invested and controlled by Yunnan Blackwater Electric Power Group. There is a T-shaped intersection in front of us. We turn right into Minzhu Road. There is a hotel on the left and right of the intersection: the Senlong Hotel on the right is a three-star hotel invested and built by Lijiang Senlong Group; the Yunshan Hotel on the left is also in the Lijiang area. The largest passenger bus station with the most complete facilities.

The car we were riding in was driving around the northwest side of Lion Rock. On the way, we also passed Lijiang Stadium, Shennong Hotel, Post and Telecommunications Building, Baixin Shopping Mall, Department Store and other units. This is a three-way intersection. Turn right and you can enter Lijiang Old Town not far away. We turn left and enter Xinjie Street, which is the first street in Lijiang New Town and one of the streets with the most concentrated and lively shopping malls. There is a T-shaped intersection in front of you. Turn left and you can enter Fuhui Road. The Lijiang regional and autonomous county government offices are on this road.

We continue to go north not far away to the Red Sun Square, the earliest municipal square built in Lijiang New Town. On the left side of the square is the newly built International Cultural Exchange Center, and on the right side stands a statue of Mao Zedong, with a wall of quotations behind it. This statue of Mao Zedong, built in 1969, has a very contemporary design, and even the combination of every number is carefully arranged. The square platform base is 1.949 meters high, which symbolizes the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949 and the beginning of a new era. The base of the statue is 5.16 meters high. There are reliefs of Shaoshan and Jinggangshan to the south, reliefs of Yan'an and Xibaipo to the north, and reliefs of Tiananmen and the Red Flag to the west (front). They concisely outline Mao Zedong's representative and important revolutionary process. The statue is 7.1 meters high, symbolizing the founding of the Communist Party of China on July 1. The entire statue, including the base and the sculpture, is 12.26 meters tall, implying that Mao Zedong was born on December 26.

Please see: Mao Zedong is wearing a military uniform, his left hand is naturally attached to his trousers, and his right hand is raised, greeting people. On February 3, 1996, a magnitude 7 earthquake occurred in Lijiang. A large number of buildings around the square collapsed in an instant. Surprisingly, the statue of Mao Zedong was not damaged at all and remained motionless. It was rumored to be an anecdote for a while. In any case, Mao Zedong, a great man of a generation, will never be forgotten in the hearts of the Chinese people and in the emotions of the common people. The products of this special era can not only arouse people's nostalgia for their revolutionary ancestors, but also arouse people's reflection on history.
