Where is Bayi Square?

Bayi Square is a cultural relic protection unit, a red tourism classic scenic spot and a patriotic education base in Nanchang.

Bayi Square is located at the core of Bayi Avenue in Nanchang, formerly known as People's Square. Bayi Square is the window of Nanchang, surrounded by the direct avenue leading to the city, and it is also the center of Nanchang citizens' activities. Every year, various government and business activities will be held in this square.

Bayi Square and Memorial Tower of Bayi Uprising

The memorial tower of Bayi Square and Memorial Tower of Bayi Uprising in the center of the square is known as the city emblem of Hero City. On August 1st, 1977, the memorial tower of Bayi Uprising was built at the south end of the square to commemorate the 5th anniversary of the uprising of Bayi Nanchang, and was completed on January 8th, 1979. The original memorial tower covers an area of 1.7 hectares, with a height of 45.5 meters. It consists of a pedestal, a pedestal, a tower body and a tower top. The front is engraved with nine gold-plated characters inscribed by Marshal "Nanchang Uprising Memorial Tower on August 1st", and the base of the tower has 27 steps, which means 1927. The original memorial tower was built on the 5th anniversary of the August 1st Uprising in 1977 and completed on January 8th, 1979. At the top is a flag of Bayi Army made in Hanyang, which flutters in the wind. On the front, there is a granite monument about Nanchang Uprising. On the other facades, there are three large granite reliefs of "declaring the uprising", "attacking the enemy camp" and "cheering for victory". There are wing walls on each side of the tower, and the Chinese Red Army flag emblem reliefs surrounded by pine trees and evergreen trees are embedded. The whole tower is solemn and solemn, which makes people feel admired.

build a garden city and improve the city's taste, in early 22, the new municipal party committee and municipal government decided to completely transform Bayi Square. After the transformation, the theme of Bayi Square is to highlight the "Bayi" history and culture, covering an area of 78, square meters, divided into two axes and three districts. Two axes: one axis is the main axis of the north-south square, centering on the Bayi Memorial Tower, passing through the central sunken plaza Center to the music fountain and ending the water curtain movie; Along the main axis are the glass trail, the national flag platform, sunken plaza, Yan-and so on. The other axis is the sub-axis of the east-west square landscape, with the restoration of the original appearance of the provincial exhibition hall as the landscape center, the sloping lawn on the outside of sunken plaza from east to west, and the torch, the combined sculpture of the armed forces of the sea, land and air and the provincial exhibition hall set in the center, forming a complete sub-axis of the landscape.

Memorial area: centering on the August 1st Uprising Memorial Hall, it radiates around small memorial squares. The east and west sides are evergreen trees and black pines, which form a natural green barrier, separating the memorial area from the surrounding downtown areas, showing the solemn and solemn atmosphere of the memorial area. A Jinshui River in the northern part of the memorial area has become the defining element of functional space and landscape space, with a waterfront stage on the central axis on the south bank and a viewing space on the north bank. Lying across the Jinshui River is the unique Jinshui Bridge. The reconstructed monument was raised from 45.5 meters to 53.58 meters.

Central Cultural District: The following sunken space shows the landscape space with Bayi culture as the theme. Around the theme of "Bayi Henghui", eight military reliefs were arranged in sunken plaza, and the torch and the combined sculpture of the armed forces were placed on the central ground, pointing out the theme of the Bayi Uprising: A single spark can start a prairie fire. To the north of the eight military reliefs are the mountain and water reliefs of national scenic spots in Jiangxi Province (Jinggangshan, Lushan, Sanqingshan, Sanbaishan, Longhushan, Fairy Lake, Meiling and Guifeng) which reflect the regional culture. Part of the high platform around sunken plaza is expanded to the south, forming a national flag platform, which becomes the defining element of the north of the civic square. Sunken plaza is oval with radii of 32 meters and 36 meters.

Recreation area: it is defined by the dry-spraying and water-curtain film and the national flag platform, and the water-curtain film and the central sector of the civic activity area form a viewing system. A 6-meter-wide glass walkway in the center leads directly to the national flag platform for the flag-raising ceremony. Under the trail, there is a written inscription on the construction of the square. Trees are planted on both sides of the activity area, and seats are set for visitors to rest.

On the west side of the square is the famous "Bayi Avenue". Before liberation, the subgrade of Bayi Avenue was the old city wall of Nanchang. After liberation, the city wall was demolished to build this avenue called Chang 'an Street in Nanchang, which is a ten-mile long street with a width of 6 meters. There are many famous buildings in Nanchang on both sides of the street. Nanchang Telecom Building, located in the south of the square, was built in the 195s, and it was a project aided by the Soviet Union. The Jiangxi Provincial Exhibition Hall in the middle of the square was built in 1969, and its name was "Long live the Mao Zedong Thought victory", which has a strong feature of the times. Now it has been changed to a provincial exhibition hall for holding various exhibitions. Bayi Avenue is also an important commercial center, with Lihua Shopping Plaza and Xindadi Computer City in the south and Wanda Shopping Plaza and Wal-Mart Supermarket in the north.

The transformed Bayi Square is wider and more transparent. The theme design of "Bayi Henghui" enriches the space of the square, enhances the cultural taste of the city and broadens the expression of historical connotation. It is a comprehensive city square with commemorative, symbolic, mass and leisure features, which fully displays the new features of Nanchang, a garden city and a hero city.
