From what aspects should we understand that tourism is the source of urbanization?

Beijing Lv Wei Chuangjing Planning and Design Institute believes that tourism will play an important role in the process of urbanization because of its powerful dynamic effect and regional comprehensive development coordination ability. In the regional economic and social development, tourism has formed a special effect beyond the general industry, especially for the industrial agglomeration and new urbanization development in regional operation, which has formed a huge driving force. After years of research on the economic and social effects of tourism, Lv Wei simply summarized it as "seven major effects of tourism", namely, three major dynamic effects and four major social effects.

(1) Three dynamic effects of tourism The economic essence of tourism is the economic effect of tourists' terminal consumption in different places (or different residential areas) on the premise of "handling tourists". This move will move the "market" to the destination, where tourists not only spend money on sightseeing, but also on transportation, food, entertainment, sports and shopping. And may further involve non-tourism and leisure extended consumption such as medical treatment, health care, beauty, health preservation, pension, conferences, exhibitions, blessings, training, etc. Through the consumption of tourists, the consumption economy of the destination and the development of related industrial chains will be promoted.

1, direct consumption power 1) The direct consumption of tourism has driven the supply of related products and formed a "tourism-oriented consumption economy", which has brought a huge pulling effect and made great contributions to economy, employment and taxation;

2) Tourism has well matched the market demand and supply through transportation, so in some remote areas, the economic function of tourism has been more reflected, which has made positive contributions to eliminating poverty and balancing economic development;

3) At the same time, tourism is a labor-intensive industry with many levels of employment, wide coverage and broad market, which greatly promotes the employment of the whole society.

2. Industrial development Power tourism is different from other industries, with strong comprehensiveness, high correlation and long industrial chain, which can produce far-reaching driving effects. This is mainly due to the complex structure of its industrial elements, including transportation, catering, entertainment, amusement, sightseeing, shopping and other services, as well as production industries and various elements such as tourist vehicles, tourist equipment, tourist clothing, tourist hotel accessories, and tourist souvenir manufacturing. Each factor can independently form a long industrial chain and form the development of industrial clusters under the framework of pan-tourism industry integration. The most important feature of tourism-oriented industrial clusters is that they can form localized industrial clusters. For example, tea, bamboo shoots, strange stones, ornaments and other tourist specialties are basically driven by tourism, forming an advantageous cluster industry. It can be predicted that after the Twelfth Five-Year Plan, the cluster development of tourism in China will become an irresistible trend, which will contribute to one side's economy.

3. The driving force of urbanization is tourism. The pan-tourism industrial structure formed by integrating agriculture, commerce, culture, sports, conferences, medical care, old-age care and other related industries provides an industrial foundation for urbanization development, and the consumption brought by tourism directly promotes urbanization development:

1) To realize market-oriented operation, tourism needs not only the development of core scenic spots, but also perfect infrastructure and service facilities such as transportation, medical care, safety and administration.

2) The industrialization of tourism must provide a large number of leisure projects for stranded tourists, such as hot spring bathing, amusement parks, bars, restaurants, shopping, etc., thus forming a leisure gathering area around the core attractions;

3) If tourists want to spend the night, it will bring land development, such as resort hotels (apartments), second residential areas for weekend leisure, and holiday residential areas (third residential areas) for sheltering from the cold and taking care of the elderly. In addition, they will also provide accommodation for tourism practitioners and resettlement communities for residents who have been demolished, thus forming a supporting development of residential communities.

It can be seen that the development of tourism industry has formed land development, infrastructure development, public supporting development and residential development, which are fully integrated with regional development and urbanization, forming an unorganized urban structure of "tourism core attraction area+leisure gathering area+comprehensive residential area+supporting services".

(2) The four social effects of tourism 1, value enhancement effect Tourism can enhance the value of products. On the one hand, tourism brings consumers the origin, which makes the sales of products directly market-oriented, omits the cost of intermediate circulation, and can be sold at the market terminal price, thus obtaining higher value than the wholesale price. We call this part of the value the value enhancement brought by terminal consumption. On the other hand, tourists can enjoy brand-new experiences and services different from the general shopping process, which makes the final price of products higher than the general market. We call this part of higher value the added value promotion brought by experiential consumption.

2. As an experiential activity, brand effect tourism can turn a city's cultural heritage, intangible cultural heritage and folk customs into scenic spots, so that tourists can feel, experience and spread quickly, form a destination brand image, attract the public to come, consume and leave memories. In addition, the extroversion and beauty of tourism can also enhance the visibility and reputation of urban brands, thereby enhancing the brand value of the whole city or region, and ultimately enhancing the value of people, things and assets in the city.

3. Ecological Effects The 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China put the construction of ecological civilization in a prominent position, and proposed to strive to build a beautiful China and realize sustainable development. It can be predicted that in the future, China will change its economic development mode and make great efforts to promote the green development, circular development and environmental protection of industrial structure and production mode. This is a rare tourism opportunity with great potential.

Because tourism is an aesthetic activity, in order to develop, we must protect, beautify and improve the environment. Otherwise, if the skin does not exist, how can the hair be attached? In addition, through the research of scholars at home and abroad, the proportion of energy consumption of tourism is far less than that of industry, construction and transportation, and it is a low-energy industry. After the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, we attach great importance to the construction of ecological civilization, and the ecological effect of tourism will be maximized.

4. Happiness Value Effect When we abandon the thinking mode of "productivity only" and pursue the development of a harmonious society from the standpoint of Scientific Outlook on Development, we have to regard tourism as a happiness-oriented industry. Tourism can not only increase the income of destination residents, but also bring tourists broader horizons, life enjoyment and spiritual pleasure, thus improving the quality of life. At the end of 2009, the Opinions on Accelerating the Development of Tourism issued by the State Council proposed that the tourism industry should be cultivated into a "modern service industry that makes people more satisfied". In 20 12, Guangdong province issued the Action Plan for Cultivating Happiness-oriented Industrial System for the first time in China, which listed "leisure tourism" as one of the eight happiness-oriented industries. The happiness effect of tourism has been gradually recognized by the society and plays a practical role in improving people's happiness.

To sum up, our conclusion is that tourism is not only an industrial economy, but also a comprehensive and coordinated social economy. First of all, tourism plays a great role in promoting the overall development of regional economy and society. In the next 5- 10 years, tourism will become one of the power sources for China to maintain medium and high-speed economic and social growth. Secondly, the driving value of tourism industry is not limited to the economic driving of power source, but also has comprehensive social values such as improving happiness index, increasing employment population, improving ecological environment, increasing farmers' income, protecting and inheriting history and culture, upgrading urban cultural brands, and promoting urban and rural planning, making it the most attractive industry in China's future development.
