Wuwei, known as Liangzhou in ancient times, is an important town at the eastern end of the Hexi Corridor of the Silk Road, the birthplace of China's tourist symbol "Horse stepping on a swallow", the hometown of China wine, the historical witness of Tibet's belonging to the motherland, and the world's main white yak producing area. 1986 was named as a national historical and cultural city and an open city by the State Council, and was named as an excellent tourist city in China in 2005. Its 33,000 square kilometers of land is inhabited by 654.38+960,000 people from 38 ethnic groups, including Han, Tibetan and Hui.
