Youtaishan Island

The National Day holiday is coming, and my parents took me to Fujian to play. This trip is unusual. We are going camping with our tents. The night before I left, I was too excited to sleep.

We set out from Wenzhou and took a car for about 3 hours to arrive in Shacheng Town, Fujian. At Shacheng Town Wharf, we changed to the only ship here bound for Taishan Island. As the ship gradually left the dock, I stood on the deck and looked into the distance. The blue sea is endless, and white seagulls fly freely in our bow, as if to guide us. Suddenly, the ship bumped up and down, and huge waves rushed at our ship one after another. People have the feeling of vomiting and diarrhea, and of course I am no exception. In great pain, the ship finally reached Taishan Island.

Taishan Island is the farthest island from the mainland and the closest island to the high seas in China. People on the island live a paradise. They make a living by fishing. They work at sunrise and rest at sunset. Fishing nets are piled up in front of every household, and several old people sit in the sunset to mend them. Our arrival broke the quiet life of fishermen on the island. The fishermen warmly received us with simple hearts. After dinner at a fisherman's house, we set up a tent on an empty lawn on the island and prepared to spend the night.

The island in the moonlight is like a shy little girl, covered with a thin veil, so mysterious and quiet. We lay in the tent, listening to the sound of waves lapping on the shore outside. It sounded like a lullaby sung by the sea, and soon we fell asleep.

When we finished this pleasant trip and left Taishan Island, the beautiful Taishan Island was deeply left in my memory.
